Per Informative Caption, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit the mentoring programme of the XLP project London Wall....XLP supports young people who are facing emotional, behavioural and relational challenges." (The spelling in Informative Caption was extra British this morning.) This is one of their pet projects, and they always seem to enjoy it. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT CHARITY...

...I suspect this will be a divisive look, but I love it. It got weirdly slightly crinkled in the car, and the fabric DOES reminds me of the paper that roadside burger shacks use to line the red plastic baskets in which they serve you your lunch, but I am into it. (I think that burger-liner-paper is a very American thing, as well. Can I take Kate wearing the pattern of American Cheeseburger Liners as a shout-out? I MIGHT.)

Obviously the only reason I'm showing this to you is so that you can know, deep in your heart, that she is wearing separates.
Additionally, it cracks me up that this brand is called Eponine -- it is 100% named after the character in Les Mis. Who would definitely NOT wear this. I hope they offer dresses named things like DYING AT THE BARRICADES and STUPID MARIUS DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ME and COSETTE YOU'RE RUINING MY LIFE and MAYBE I SHOULD BANG ENJOLRAS IF WE BOTH LIVE THROUGH THIS THING WE'RE DOING???

This is sort of a strange point I am about to make, but it's a pertinent one: I think this look is more successful sitting down than standing up. The proportions work better. Just wait until she pairs it with a pillbox hat!

I must admit, they are very cute at this event. I can't help it. My heart is not composed solely of stone. It's only like 15% stone. (They have to be making fun of Wills here; in addition to his facial expression, and Kate's DELIGHT, everyone is looking at him.)

You two. Let's never fight again.
