Wills and Kate

When I saw this photo in the thumbprint size, I sincerely believed it to be a jumpsuit, and that the bodice was utterly sheer (I believe it's lined) and I must confess, I felt a frisson of joy at the idea that Kate decided, "SCREW YOU ALL," and just went balls-out wacky. Come on, Kate. We know you've got a little bit of balls-out wacky inside you. Let that crackpot out inside your wardrobe!

That said, this dress actually IS rather unusual. I love the color, and always liked a nice Swiss dot. I might wish it were knee-length, but then it might not be right for this event. Kate's right. Cocktail receptions ARE hard. I kind of wish she'd worn this, though. (And I would not be at all surprised if we saw this next week.)

Please, if a Friend of Kate is reading this -- AND I KNOW YOU ARE (I don't know anything ) -- the next time she starts muttering about cutting a fringe, remind her that she always regrets it and starts pushing it back in with the rest of her hair immediately. Please. Do it for her.

And a closer look at the earrings, which are more modern than she often wears -- although she's worn these before -- and which I love. My left ear hole has closed up. Should I just go try and stab it open now and get back into earrings? Please advise.

Royally Played, Wills and Kate in Saloni London
In which Kate once again tried to figure out what the hell to wear to a cocktail reception. For one CRAAAZY second, I thought this was a JUMPSUIT. It is not. Saloni is a brand by a Indian designer Saloni Lodha-- which makes sense, as this was a reception, per Kensington Palace, " to meet young Indian and Bhutanese people living in the UK" prior to the kick off of W&K's tour of India and Bhutan, which starts on Sunday, and which I will OF COURSE be covering here at length. Kate previously wore Saloni here, and there's been a lot of speculation that she will repeat that exact dress next week, which I think is a safe bet, although I do pray that George has fed her McQueen belt to the family goat. I hope she's just asking everyone what they think she ought to do with her hair. It's always so pretty and interesting.
