He has never been this cheery with the press, and I wonder if part of this is the influence of their new Press Guru, or they're just really happy right now, or both. Per Informative Caption, the fundraiser will "support scholarships and bursaries for students from under-privileged communities and investment in the university's media and science faculties, sports centers and lectureship in American literature." Yay, American literature. The photos inside are stunning, as you will soon see. I must confess that when I saw this photo, tiny, on Twitter, I thought WILLIAM was wearing the kilt and I am VERY SAD THAT HE IS NOT. ## Wills and Kate at the Met ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/460214386.xml) I believe these sleeves are more off-the-shoulder than usual with this dress, and they look LOVELY like this. The neckline is just fab, with the up-do and those swoonworthy, AMAZING earrings. This was hosted by Visit Britain, the official UK tourism board. (They do the GREAT Britain ads, which you've probably seen; they're quite good, I think.) And then Patrick Stewart showed up. (And that's Harvey Weinstein in the background, surely there with Georgina Chapman. Last time I personally saw Harvey in the wild, he was wandering a Marchesa show in just a white Hanes tee shirt. In fairness, they had just had a baby and were maybe sleep deprived? ANYWAY.) Good day for jewelry, friends. Good day indeed. (You probably want to actually SEE the coat, if you haven't; check out today's first W&K post for coatyness.) The Gala Gown is Jenny Packham, and it's a rewear -- we've seen it here, AND then also here, -- but those earrings are new and they are....major. (They're not part of the royal jewel collection, they're apparently, per the DMIK, "a private gift," which I have decided means they're from William.) Everyone who's ever asked her to wear her hair up with this dress, should feel pleased, as you are VINDICATED. I think this is the best this dress has ever looked. (This is their final event in New York, but I'll be bringing you some bits and bobs tomorrow to wrap-up. I'm always sad when these things end.
