His head looks so much better with his hair much shorter (it tends to get fluffy on the sides and then he looks like someone's old kindly sociology professor). Personally, I think he could go EVEN SHORTER, but this is an excellent start and way more modern. Which is obviously what Kate is thinking right here.

Kate and this gentleman are surely discussing their mutual love of tweeds of all sorts, right? Houndstooth versus herringbone: DISCUSS. (PS: I totally just fell into a tweed hole, here, and I recommend you do the same if you have a spare hour to read about it.)

Oooh, it's time for our first Informative Caption of the year! I hope I remember how to do this. AHEM: "Queen Elizabeth II, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge attend a wreath laying ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the final withdrawal from the Gallipoli Peninsula at the War Memorial Cross, Sandringham."
They also invited, apparently, a HUGE variety of people in interesting hats.

The Middletons, I have to say, all look quite sharp. (Pa Middleton also attended -- they didn't leave him home to babysit or something, never fear.) I do like to think that Carole showed up for breakfast in this suit and she and Kate had a big argument over who was to change -- "I'M your mother." "I'M a duchess!" "And who is to thank for THAT?" "Well, it's MY birthday!" "AND WHO IS TO THANK FOR THAT???" -- and eventually just decided to wear the same silhouette, damn the haters.

"Maybe for Valentine's Day, I'll just shave the whole thing"
