Everyone looks so serious AND HANDSOME here. It's nice of the boys to match so perfectly, like Blue Suited Bookends to Kate.

The boys are wearing the same tie, because it is the tie of the Blues and Royals, to which they both belong. (They are both captains; if I read my Wiki correctly, while the Queen is of course the boss, Princess Anne is the Colonel of the Regiment. Go, Anne!)

I always like it when Kate wears a pillbox hat. It's so RETRO. It also seems like a serious hat. If women's hats may be seen as serious.

I believe this is a view of the battlefield. It's quite lovely in France; it must be a real cognitive disconnect to hear about the terrible horrors of World War I while looking at such an objectively beautiful place.

Did I download a surprising lot of photos from this event? I did! I just like a stripe-y coat and men in suits, you guys -- regardless of the solemnity of the event.

Both men spoke at this event, but it turns out I only downloaded a snap of Harry. Sorry, William -- maybe if you'd worn your reading glasses, things would have turned out differently here.

In case you were wondering if Kate was secretly wearing a red lace party dress under her coat, the answer is NO.

This is quite beautiful; this must have been a very moving event. Informative Caption tells us, "the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attend part of a military-led vigil to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of the Somme at the Thiepval memorial to the Missing in June 30, 2016 in Thiepval, France. The event is part of the Commemoration of the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepval Memorial in Thiepval, France, where 70,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers with no known grave are commemorated."
