I have some video of this completely delightful moment in the body of the post, but I thought you might need Informative Caption as well: "Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip feed Donna, an Asian Elephant, as they visit the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo...The Queen and The Duke will meet the Head Elephant Keeper and view the elephant team carrying out daily care tasks such as nail filing and mouth care. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will meet the Centre's project team, including zookeepers and architects, in front of the elephant paddock before proceeding to the amphitheatre where The Queen will unveil a plaque to mark the formal opening of the Centre. The Queen and The Duke will view an elephant being fed and meet keepers and vets before departing." ELEPHANTS!

Both of her Majesty's events this week were v. photogenic. Here, she's hanging out with the Yeoman of the Guard after the tradish Royal Maundy service. (That's Leicester Cathedral, if you're wondering.)

Please excuse the tonal shift as we move over to Sweden, where Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel attended a memorial ceremony for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a distressing fact that this is the second such memorial in two weeks (the prior one being in London). Obviously, everyone here looks wholly appropriate; I think Victoria's hat is beautiful on her, though that's certainly not the most important point of any of this.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Phillip also attended, as did Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, though I wasn't able to get a photo of them. I hope all our Swedish readers -- indeed, all of our readers -- are well.
