(a) Welcome to my new profile pic, now and forever, and (b) Informative Caption was super informative here! Ahem: "A 41-round Royal Gun Salute is fired on the Parade Ground in Hyde Park to publicly celebrate the 93rd birthday of Herr Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II. The salute is fired at midday by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The Queen's birthday is April 21st, but salutes are not fired on Sundays and take place the next day if the date falls on a Sunday." THANK YOU, CAPTION.

The funeral of the Countess of Carnarvon

It's so unusual to see Her Majesty in black and white, but I must say: She looks FANTASTICALLY CHIC. This was the funeral of Jeanie, Countess of Carnarvon, who of course was the (American!) Lady of the House at the stately home where they film Downton. Her obituary is very interesting.

Here, Wills and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern are at an Anzac Day service -- this is, of course, a traditional Māori greeting, the hongi. William is currently in New Zealand meeting survivors of the horrific terror attacks there last month.

Here, he's laying a wreath at the Anzac Day service, and then after this, per Informative Caption, he flew "to the South Island where he will visit survivors of the Christchurch mosque shootings." There's been a lot of bad press about Wills lately, but it's good that he went and did this. (We didn't get a ton of pics of this fairly quick trip, for whatever reason.)

These are "two of The Queen's Highland Ponies, Lomond and Jubilee, that will be taking part in The Victorian Pageant" and they are GORGEOUS HORSES, and Sophie looks so fresh-faced and cute here. Edward looks like Edward -- I never pay for pics of poor Edward, and the good news is that here is proof that he is alive! -- and Andrew has made some intriguing blazer/tie choices. (I believe the tie is required so....I....don't know what he was thinking there? Charles is somewhere chortling about this.)

NEVER FEAR, this is not a jumpsuit. It is a dress! I rather like this. It's moderately nautical?

I had the worst time finding a pic of the Spanish Royals where they all had their eyes open -- sorry, Queen Sofia, you drew the short straw today! Everyone here looks lovely, actually. I love the Chanel-ish looks on the girls, and Letizia's floral is fab.

But this look on Leitiza is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. It's so good. I need to lie down.

I might have styled this differently -- white shirt, perhaps, and some patterned shoes?
