Princess Anne 70th birthday portraits

These portraits of Anne

The palace released three new portraits of Anne to celebrate her 70th birthday on Saturday -- they were snapped in February before everything really went to hell. Anyway, they're great. She does NOT stint on a red lip and I appreciate that. This is very glam indeed.

This pic is great because she looks SO UNIMPRESSED WITH YOUR BULLSHIT. Whatever you're saying...stop. Whatever you're thinking...it's dumb. Wherever you're going....don't.

And this is FULL, "I'm pretty sure that Lord Darlington over there actually murdered his solicitor...and I'm going to prove it." (I also like this very 70s Pendleton-y flannel and turtleneck situation.)

TEMPERATURE SEGUE. The Spanish Royal Family IS on their vacay right now, but they're continuing to do events to highlight cool places to visit in Spain, since the country has had such a downturn in tourism (for obvious reasons). Here, they're visiting "the Naveta des Tudons, oldest building in Europe, asset of cultural interest and an example of the Talayotic culture of Menorca." That sounds very interesting and cool! Also, this is a great dress -- it's by a brand called Uterqüe.

Here, Informative Caption informs us that the family "visited the Naum socio-educational project, in the Sin Roca neighborhood, in Palma de Mallorca. The Naum is a center for youngsters at risk of exclusion in Palma de Mallorca." That seems like a good cause! (And yes, Infanta Sofia is on crutches; I guess she fell down and hurt herself. The Express called it A HORRIFIC INJURY but y'all, sometimes people fall down. Maybe let the kid skip the cobblestone streets, though!)

Here, they came out to visit the Museum of Junipero Serra, a priest about whom MANY indigenous people in California would like to have a word!!!! (In fact, a statue of him was recently removed -- by the Powers That Be -- from the front courtyard of the San Gabriel Mission, very close to my home. The Mission also recently suffered a terrible fire.)
