I LOVE this hat on Sophie.

Sophie looks GREAT. (I presume this outfit doesn't end in hot pants and shower shoes.) As you know, I have a soft spot for events featuring dapper old veterans in their dashing hats. Let's turn to our friend Informative Caption, shall we? "Sophie, Countess of Wessex, meets veteran James Fenton during the 70th Anniversary commemorations of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church... The event marks the 70th anniversary of the surrender of Japanese Forces, bringing about the end of World War II. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will join British Prime Minister David Cameron and former prisoners of war during services throughout the day as tributes are made to the the estimated 71,244 British and Commonwealth casualties of the Far East conflict. Japan formally surrendered on September 2, 1945 at a ceremony in Tokyo Bay on USS Missouri."

Per Informative Caption: "Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, dances with Jim Booth, Royal Navy Veteran aged 94 from Taunton, Somerset during the 70th Anniversary commemorations of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) at the Royal British Legion reception in the College Gardens of Westminster Abbey." There is NOTHING Camilla loves more -- or does better, from what I can tell -- than flirting with old dudes, and I have to say, I LOVE this photo. Not for nothing, but Jim Booth appears to still have some moves.

In which Her Majesty appears to be sneakily OPENING HER HANDBAG.

There are some HATS in this picture. I love it.

"Hello, everyone. Since literally every other royal dude is currently either on vacation, dealing with rhinos somewhere in Africa, or flying a helicopter, I've been asked to give the keynote speech at this month's meeting of the International Blue Suit Society. Today's discussion with focus on whether or not my tan comes from a bottle."

FORE!
