So, this week marked the Nobel Prize ceremony and banquet, and that always brings with it fantastic tiaras and gowns. Sweden, bless you for being all YAY INTELLECT and YAY JEWELS at the same time. I'm going to link up a STORM to Tiara Intel this week, so get ready -- if you want more intel on any of these, click through for the brilliance of The Court Jeweller, or Order of Splendor. Crown P V here is wearing the Connaught Tiara, which I like because it is A TIARA. Like, this tiara has COMMITTED.

Her escort is Nobel Prize in Physics, Professor Emeritus Arthur B. McDonald, and allow me to note that I wish I had a front-on view of these gowns, but so far...no. Regardless: this color is great on her.

Sofia looks LOVELY, in her emerald and diamond tiara (and matching earrings).

Her escort is the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics, Professor Takaaki Kajita. This dress is (I believe) Oscar de la Renta, and it's GREAT on her, even just from this side angle and all crunched in her hand. This might be the best I've seen her look.

Mads is sporting the Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara, which looks GREAT on her head. The stones are so HUGE.

Her escort is Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Professor Paul Modrich, and, honestly, this dress is ALSO great. Sweden, you did good this year.

Prince C-P is escorting Dr Vickers Burdett, who is Dr Modrich's wife and ALSO a biochemist and also SHE LOOKS GREAT. Getting to walk in with hot hot hot PCP is also not a bad deal for her, like, at all. Good night for Dr Burdett, who I rather want to fist bump right now.

This tiara might be the most tiara-y tiara to ever tiara. She wears it well. She also looks great in red.

Her escort is Professor Carl-Henrik Heldin, who is on the Nobel board, if I understand it all correctly. This dinner is really full of extremely smart people.

This was at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony at Oslo City Town Hall, and for a second, I thought those were sunglasses on her head. Like, I know it's not a Tiara Occasion over there, but DAMN. I am corrected. It's a headband.

Over to the UK, and the loving embrace of our friend Informative Caption: "Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, holds up a card during a diversity and difference exercise during a visit to The Diana Award, where he took part in anti-bullying activity sessions." They were supposed to write down stuff that defined them -- his other card said, "I am a Prince," which is actually quite honest. (There's a really good piece about it in People actually.)

Wills also popped over to the Football for Peace project , where they had him take penalty kicks.

"See, Harry? I can do this, too. AND my suits fit better."

Wills ALSO put on one of my favorites of his uniforms to visit the Keogh Barracks to present medals to British Army Medics for their fight against Ebola, all of which is awesome. I also love how very British Peggy Carter that woman looks, and feel as if she needs to come to drinks with us.

There is something sort of poignant to me about this photo, given that we've seen his grandmother in the middle spot for so many years, and knowing that eventually this will be the set-up going forward.

Mrs Aichatou Sanni Aoudou is Ambassador from the Gabonese Republic, and, yes, I DO always intentionally pick the diplomat in the most interesting outfit for this slideshow.

Informative Caption tells us, "Prince Charles gestures towards a giant painting hanging inside Sandhurst military academy which depicts himself and the royal family on the steps of the academy when both his sons were attending," but his body language tells us, "oh, THIS old thing?!"

She's just a saucy deputy district attorney off to put away some murderers in this awesome red coat.

I believe this is what they call ELEGANZA.

HOLIDAY CARD TIME! Informative Caption tells me, this is "the Royal Christmas card from King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, featuring a traditional painting of the birth of Jesus." I love scrutinizing how terrible royal handwriting can be.

This is, of course, the one from Felipe and Letizia and the girls -- hit "view original" to see it bigger -- and Sofia, I love your signature.

I love this moment's Informative Caption almost as much as Maxima's hat: "Dutch Queen Maxima...visits the new building of Schmidt sea fish in Rotterdam." Because I WAS wondering if that was a giant lobster behind her.

42 year old Queen Mathilde is wearing the hell out of that necklace, which I love.

Ahem! "In this handout provided by the German Government Press Office Queen Rania, King Abdullah, President of Germany Joachim Gauck and Daniela Schadt chat before a dinner in the Palace at Al Urdon." Well, that's all well and good, but I need to know more about Rania's skirt!

In which Morocco's Princess Lalla Meryem gives Francis Ford Coppola a medal, and also really works that caftan.

I feel like Charlotte is at a horse show of some sort AT ALL TIMES. I rather like her little jacket. Fernanda Ameeuw is a v. accomplished Brazilian equestrienne and also wearing a super cute dress here.
