Prince Carl Philip of Sweden visits Hong Kong

Well, that says it all, doesn't it? (This is an art exhibit.)

Harry at Sandhurst

Informative Caption tells us, "Prince Harry represents Her Majesty The Queen as the Reviewing Officer at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst." I tell you that I enjoy this overcoat, and that I think Harry has a cold (his nose was unusually red).

Wills and Harry

Earlier this week, Wills and Harry went to the premiere of The Last Jedi -- in which they both have cameos as Stormtroopers -- and got to be reunited with their co-star, BB-8.

Prince Harry

"Here, you forgot your helmet."

Idris, Chaz, and Sabrina Dhowre

Sabrina Dhowre is Idris's VERY LUCKY girlfriend; I read that Idris apparently waxed poetic about Meghan Markle this whole time, which cracks me up. HE'S ONE OF US.

One Million Young Lives dinner

This actually IS how I imagine any dinner I might have with Idris Elba, to be honest. (This is the Portrait Gallery in Buckingham Palace. It's so pretty set up for a dinner!)

Chaz and Camz visit Borough Market

I don't know if you've noticed this, but everywhere Charles and Camilla go, they get to snack on something and have a drink.

Children from Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity visit Clarence House

Camilla throws this party every year and it ALWAYS makes me cry. She invites kids with serious and terminal illnesses, and their families, to Clarence House for a party to help her decorate her tree and eat snacks and have tree and this is just the greatest. Wait for it...

Children from Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity visit Clarence House

How great is this!? I want to hug everyone.

London International Horse Show

You know that when royals go to events and pose with various members of the public, I often try to choose the photo where the civilians are wearing the best outfits and the Chilean Huasos were the clear winners at this event. Those are some really gorgeous ponchos. Camilla's velvet look is ALSO nice. Well done, everyone.

Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie

These two look nice, here at the "Ball of Eden" in Miami, which vaguely sounds like an event at which someone would get murdered on L&O.

Princess Eugenie

This is "the Charge II charity boxing match gala evening," and Euj must like this frock, because she wears it off.

Duke of Edinburgh portrait painting by Ralph Heimans

This seems like the right time to turn to Informative Caption: "Undated handout image issued by Buckingham Palace of a painting by Australian born artist Ralph Heimans of Prince Philip painted in the year of his retirement from public engagements. Set in The Grand Corridor at Windsor Castle, Prince Philip is depicted wearing the sash of the Order of the Elephant, Denmark's highest-ranking honour." I think this is really a very good portrait -- a very traditional one, surely, but almost photorealistic.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit

This is an event about preventing food waste and whoever picked out the aprons has a real, real profound grudge against M-M. M

Nobel Peace Prize Festivities

It's also Nobel Prize Week! Here, "King Harald of Norway receives the executive director of the Nobel Peace Prize 2017 winning International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), Beatrice Fihn, at the Royal Palace." GOOD FOR YOU, BEATRICE. Also, your bracelets are cute and that's clearly as good as winning a Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 34.

Nobel Peace Prize 2017 award ceremony,

I...just...always have notes for M-M, sartorially speaking. This is...a lot of look.

Nobel award ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden

Over to the Nobel Ceremony in Stockholm, where everyone looks nice this year. Let's give the Queen a little love for her metallic shoes, too! (I like how Crown Prince Daniel is really admiring Victoria here.)

Crown Princess Victoria, Kip S. Thorne

This dress is VERY pretty and romantic. Her escort, Kip S. Thorne, won the Nobel Prize for Physics. His wiki pages tells me that he is "is an American theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate, known for his contributions in gravitational physics and astrophysics. A longtime friend and colleague of Stephen Hawking and Carl Sagan, he was the Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) until 2009 and is one of the world's leading experts on the astrophysical implications of Einstein's general theory of relativity. He continues to do scientific research and scientific consulting, most notably for the Christopher Nolan film Interstellar." OH IS THAT ALL? Good for you, Kip!

Nobel Prize 2017 banquet,

I LOVE this photo and I thought you might also appreciate this amazing tablescape, not to mention her tiara.

Princess Madeleine

I don't have a full length photo of Madeleine going to the dinner and she may not have attended. BUT! Her tiara is AMAZING.

Queen Silvia, Carl-Henrik Heldin

First of all, this gown is ELEGANT. Second, no, I don't know what the woman behind her is wearing that hat but I assume there is a reason? Third, Carl-Henrik Heldin is the chairman of the Nobel foundation and a Swedish molecular biologist

Princess Sofia of Sweden, Barry C. Barish

This gown is VERY pretty and romantic on Sofia; her escort is Barry C. Barish. Barry "is an American experimental physicist and Nobel Laureate. He is a Linde Professor of Physics, emeritus at California Institute of Technology. He is a leading expert on gravitational waves." (I really REALLY love getting to look up the smarty Nobel winners every year.)

Alice Bah Kuhnke, Minister for Culture and Democracy, Kazuo Ishiguro, laureate in literature

Behold Alice Bah Kuhnke, the Swedish Minister for Culture and Democracy, escorting Kazuo Ishiguro, who of course won the Nobel laureate in literature. This dress is pretty awesome.

The King's dinner for the Nobel Laureates

OMG, I LOVE this dress on Victoria. Honestly, she always really brings it for Nobel Prize Weekend.

King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia

Did I originally think that the floral arrangement behind Silvia was attached to the back of her head? I certainly did.

Princess Madeleine, Chris O'Neill

I am not in love with this color on Madeleine but her FACE looks amazing.

Princess Madeleine, Chris O'Neill

And she IS wearing a cape.

Princess Sofia of Sweden, Prince Carl Philip

These two are a GORGEOUS couple no matter how you slice it. But Sofia's dress could MAYBE use a belt or some sort?

Gothenburg Symphony Choir's centenary celebration

Victoria is having a VERY patterned week.

Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar

This is an "audience with the Royal College of Forestry's student union for the presentation of Christmas trees" and MOST of these people are DELIGHTED by this event...

Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar

...and the other one will look delighted even if he has to be forced! (This photo is so funny to me.)

Spanish Royal Christmas Card

I just love Royal Family Holiday Card Season.

Queen Letizia visits Senegal, Dakar

Letizia is visiting Senegal this week; here, she's ben met at the airport by Marieme Faye Sall, who is the First Lady of Senegal, and whose Chanel bag is divine.

Queen Letizia visits Senegal

Here, Letizia "meets students during a visit to Dakar's University in Dakar, Senegal," and for a moment, I thought her blouse ws a kooky necktie.

Christmas Music Gala

Yes, there are feathers lurking within this outfit somewhere.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark

Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary is on a boat called "Wild Oats XI" back home in Sydney.

Princess Caroline

I mean...I guess this IS what you wear to something called the Monte Carlo Casino Surrealist Dinner.

Royals Round-Up, December 15th, 2017

It's PRIME tiara season.
