First off, though, here's your Cambridge Family Christmas Picture, including George's beloved red train. (I feel like William is poised to LEAP if George goes rogue here; I find Responsible Dad On The Case to be a very attractive look for him, because I am OLD.) Those two kids are awfully cute; look at little Charlotte's chubby little cheeks! I WANT TO SQUASH THEM. She also already looks mildly amused but exasperated by her brother's antics, which is a very complicated emotional stance for a baby, AND she's missing a shoe, which is...really, really cute. This is a very cute photo, overall.
PS: I would also totally wear George's sweater myself, with jeans.

That curly little head back there next to Kate is George, obviously. I enjoy seeing all three of them in an enclosed space, finally. (William has flouted tradition and is not driving the car in his reading glasses, looking peevish; he skipped the annual Christmas Luncheon with Granny because his friend Guy Pelly's father died, and the memorial was at the same time.)

"SANTA PLEASE BRING ME A ROCKET LAUNCHER THANK YOU VERY MUCH."

Informative Caption tells us this is "Prince Harry meeting local pupils from Virginia Primary School, during his visit to Mildmay HIV hospital and charity in London, to mark the official opening of their new purpose-built facilities." Thank you for your work this year, Informative Caption!

"Hey guys, I got a haircut since the last time you saw me! Do you think I'm going to keep the beard through Christmas? DISCUSS." (I personally think that it's possible we'll get a turn-around and Harry will pop up at Sandringham CLEAN-SHAVEN.)

A little cake-cutting of a weekday morning.

This is not just for maximum poignancy, although it is of course that. As People reported, this is the hospital at which Diana very famously kissed an AIDS patient on the check, which was a HUGE deal in 1989. He does seem to have inherited her knack for dealing with the public.

Also on Wednesday, Prince Philip passed his honorary Air Commodore-in-Chief of the RAF title to Kate. ( This is nice because, of course, Wills was in the RAF.) The Telegraph has an excellent piece about this. My question is, does this mean she gets an awesome outfit?

In our continuing series of Royal Holiday Cards, here's the one I got from Chuck and Camz. (Not really. I am not on their mailing list....YET.) This is literally like the happiest I have ever seen these two people look. They are obviously SO INTO EACH OTHER. It's really romantic.

Informative Caption tells me, "Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, patron of the Helen & Douglas House and The London Taxidrivers' Fund invites underprivileged children from both charities to decorate the Christmas tree and join the Duchess for Christmas lunch at Clarence House." (A) That is lovely, and (b) It's holiday tradition for me to note that I love that painting.

This is five year old Kiera Holland, and I LOVE HER.

Just another typical night at Charles's and Camilla's house.

Sophie does not look very festive, although she does look nice. She's attending, ahem, "the Canine Partners 25th anniversary Carol service." If only the dogs SANG!

Instead, they are simply cute.

For a long moment, I thought Mathilde was wearing a hot pink glove. SADLY, that is not the case.

"Prince Gabriel, Queen Mathilde, Princess Eleonore, Prince Emmanuel, King Philippe, Crown Princess Elisabeth pose during the yearly Christmas Concert, at the Royal Palace, in Brussels," where Christmas is REALLY CHRISTMAS-Y.

It is amazing that someone can remain THIS CHIPPER when wearing something THIS WACKY.

Over in Monte Carlo, it's Dramatic Structured Cape Season.

Which coincides with Distracted Children In Santa Hats Season, of course.

I can't decide if this blazer is deliciously festive OR looks like something on the Cost Plus sales rack OR BOTH?

"We turned off the Christmas tree, right? RIGHT?"

Here, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are at the Nobel Peace Prize concert, and I wish we both had a better look at her dress and at his face.

This is M-M and Haakon's living room and I approve of all the books!
