Wills visited Kuwait and Oman this week, without Kate, and I'm sure she was sorry to miss the trip, because it looked quite interesting. Here, he's "viewing a bird of prey during a reception hosted by Sheikh Mohamed Abdullah in the Kuwaiti Desert." I keep imaging his texts to Kate: "Dear Kate, today I met a neat bird! I miss you."

The Duke will also visit the reserve’s salt marshes, reed beds and sandy sabkha flats, and will join scientists in a number of activities studying the wetlands’ wildlife.

"I picked up something off the ground and looked at it thoughtfully! You would have loved it." (Here, Wills is visiting "Kuwait City’s wetlands at the Jahra Nature Reserve to learn more about Kuwait’s ambitious plans to protect its natural environment from human and environmental challenges.")

Kuwait and the UK are committed to the enduring partnership between its Armed Forces, and this exercise is an example of how joint training is strengthening these bonds. His RoyalHighness will observe a demonstration of urban tactics and close quarter battletechniques, before having the opportunity to speak to both UK and Kuwaiti soldiers.

"I REALLY rolled up my sleeves and went Full Forearm for this thing called Exercise DesertWarrior, which my brief called 'a bi-annual training exercise which sees a company of UK troops train alongside Kuwaiti forces and share expertise.' It was neat!"
