Carmelo Anthony and Prince Harry

Royals Round-Up

I love 'Melo's entire outfit. Look at the socks! He looks AWESOME. He apparently, at this event, invited Harry to come see a Knicks game.

Prince Harry Hosts Coach Core Graduation Ceremony

Royals Round-Up

The NBA is really all in on this partnership with the royals. Dikembe Mutombo must be like, "AND NOW I'VE MET ALL THREE OF THEM. The set? COMPLETED."

I hope Harry is taking notes on Suits That Are Not Blue at this event.

"DON'T FLIRT WITH THE BLONDE. DON'T FLIRT WITH THE BLONDE. HENRY. DON'T."

Kate

Royals Round-Up

I imagine that Kate does this regularly at the breakfast table, then turns to Wills and asks him if he likes her mustache.

Catherine Duchess of Cambridge Visits Clore Art Room

Royals Round-Up

"Ha ha, yes, that's hilarious, but which of us own a TINY DECORATED CHAIR? ME."

Kate and the Kids

Royals Round-Up

All these children are amazing. The one in the background could not care less about Kate but DOES want to make sure everyone SEES HIM, while Tiny Blue Jacket is like, "who IS this person and why is she shaking my hand?"

Princess Anne Attends The London Boat Show

Royals Round-Up

"And he claims he was home all night? Alone? A LIKELY STORY."

Princess Michael of Kent

And it was Princess Michael of Kent's 70th birthday yesterday, and she released this new official portrait. It is obviously stupendous, and her cat hates everything about it. When I'm 70, I am also going to release an official portrait in which I am wearing a tiara and vaguely threatening an irritated feline.

The Danish Royal couple host New Year's levee

Royals Round-Up

This dates from New Year's Day, but it was embargoed for me until now. I always like Mary in navy blue, and this is no different.

Queen Letizia attends the Telefonica Ability Awards in Madrid, Spain

Royals Round-Up

And I always love Letizia in a full skirt, and this is ALSO still true.

Felipe and Letizia

Royals Round-Up

It looks like they're BOTH wondering if they left the oven on.

Queen Rania and King Abdullah II, Francois Holland

Royals Round-Up

We haven't had an informative caption for a while...until now:

"French President Francois Hollande welcomes Queen Rania and King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Elysee Palace before attending a Unity rally in tribute to the 17 victims of a three-day killing spree by homegrown Islamists on January 11, 2015 in Paris, France." We've been discussing those events here, actually, if you're interested, and therefore I'm just going to be tremendously shallow and note that this coat is gorgeous.

Princess Stephanie Of Monaco Launches the 39th International Circus Festival

Royals Round-Up

"What do you WANT from me, Elephant? I'M NOT PRINCE HARRY."

Norwegian Royals Attend the Opening of 'The Year For Outdoor' Life

Royals Round-Up

We've got the Mayor of Oslo Fabian Stang (with tiny dog), Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway here, and they all look cold/cozy. I don't know why M-M is WEARING a jacket AND also has one around her waist, but I assume there are REASONS.

Maxima and W-A

Royals Round-Up

Get ready for three waist-up snaps of Maxima, because that's all I had. From what I can tell, she looks great here. But her shoes might be INSANE!

W-A AND M

Royals Round-Up

Ditto. I also like how W-A is holding a file folder in both of these. HE HAS WORK TO DO! Additionally: these guards are dashing!

Queen Maxima

Royals Round-Up

WHAT. IS. THIS. NECKLACE? I'm worried she's going to need physical therapy after this.

Royals Round-Up, January 16, 2015
Greetings! After a long week dealing with the Golden Globes, we are back to the warm and loving embrace of Royals Round-Up. I have Harry! I have Kate! I have a woman in a tiara cradling a cat! I have elephants! I HAVE EVERYTHING. Here at GFY, in case you missed it: Kate hung out with some school children and a noted British cross-dressing artist. Kate also went out to an event for foster families, which was chockablock with cute kids. We also have our Downton Abbey recaps back again this season. (Not royals, I know, NOT EVEN REAL PEOPLE, but given that I know there's some overlap in interests, I thought a heads up would not go amiss.) And finally, although you may be well aware thanks to earlier postings, I know there are some people who only read this particular post, and this info is for you: We revealed the cover for our new book, The Royal We, this week, and we're giving away three autographed, advanced copies (AKA Copies of the Next to Final Final Draft That Are Otherwise Sent Out For Reviews; there aren't any major differences between this version and the final, but you'll get to see the occasional random typo [there's one bit that's missing a word] and whatnot, which can be interesting, AND you'll get it way early, which might be exciting!). I have much goodness from elsewhere for you, as well: Hello! takes a look back at the aforementioned Princess Michael of Kent. She seems like a character. She certainly wore some AMAZING HEADPIECES. (The Royal Hats Blog) Wills and Kate and Harry are now on Twitter, and on Instagram. I really hope one of them (HARRY) gets drunk and accidentally posts a real photo of William, like, passed out sleeping on the sofa as George draws on his face, instead of letting Their People run it. Vanity Fair looks at the grand tradition of the British Royals taking ski trips, including a lot of the Former Hair of Prince William. (We even have a ski trip in The Royal We.) Over at People, the AstroTwins took a look at Kate's horoscope for the year, in honor of her birthday last week. (It actually sounds astrologically stressful. Sorry, Kate.) Fergie has been out and about a LOT lately. The Duchess Diaries looks at 12 times she made us roll our eyes. The Palace has released the list of all the gifts the royals were given in 2014 and it is fascinating. Fruitcake! Possum capes! Sling shots! Booze! Decorative eggs! (The Telegraph) Oooh, over at The Court Jeweller: Jewel History: Wedding Presents of a Princess (1879). Double ooh, at Royalista: a history of The Royal Monogram
