Royals Round-Up, January 3rd 2020

Crown Princess Mary

This was at the traditional Danish New Year's reception at Amalienborg Palace, and it's so dishy and festive and lux. I, on the other hand, spent New Year's Day in sweatpants.

And THIS is the traditional Diplomatic reception on the second. Also glam, although moderately less jewel-encrusted due to lack of tiara. (I mean, she's still wearing a massive amount of diamonds.)

Princess Marie and Prince Joachim

TIARAS. (As ever, the Court Jeweller has a tremendous amount of interesting intel about all these jewels.)

Queen Margrethe II

This is her traditional New Year's look: A GIANT FUR. (This same giant fur, actually.)

Queen Margrethe II

I think this might be new -- or at least, reworked -- but it, too, does not lack fur.

Princess Benedikte

SO much velvet for the Danes to ring in 2020; I approve.

This is tremendous. (They're hanging out with Daniel's sisters and brother-in-law here.)

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip

This was a Christmas concert in Stockholm, and Sofia's hot pink skirt is very snazzy.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel

Sincerely, everyone -- like George Costanza before them -- is wrapping themselves in velvet.

Queen Elizabeth II

Meanwhile, in England, Her Majesty put on her springiest coat and tootled over to Church.

Sophie Wessex

Sophie was the Queen's main escort to church over the holidays, and she really leaned into this Beige Coat/Fedora combo.

Chaz and Anne and the Wessexes also went to church over the break; Anne looks very chic here.

Chaz went to Yorkshire to visit people who'd been hit by flooding, and of course they treated him to a pint.

Big finish! We also learned over the break that Kate had been shadowing a maternity unit as a way to learn about what midwives, and maternity nurses and do. (She's wearing Michael Michael Kors here and it's very reasonable.)
