This is lovely! Today, "Queen Elizabeth II awards Captain Sir Thomas Moore with the insignia of Knight Bachelor at Windsor Castle on July 17, 2020 in Windsor, England. British World War II veteran Captain Tom Moore raised over £32 million for the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic." The Queen rarely does this herself anymore -- Charles and Anne and Wills do most of the knighting -- and it's nice that she decided to do the honors this time.

I just thought this was interesting. Per Informative Caption, this is "Sotheby's photo call for King George III's Tourbillon Watch, one of Most Important Watches of the 19th century, made by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the Father of Modern Watchmaking, discreetly sold by the French Watchmaking Genius to the King of England in the midst of the Napoleonic Wars, estimated at £700,000-1 million." I'm PRETTY SURE the King of England wasn't supposed to be buying fancy French watches when he's AT WAR WITH FRANCE. Was he also secretly buying fabulous little silver things from Paul Revere? PS: Breguet's company is now Swatch! His Wiki is very interesting.
