Prince Harry

Harry had a few solo events this week, like this one -- here, he's chatting with "Karen Hood, head of the Injured Players Foundation (IPF), and Dean Holder, IPF welfare officer, during a visit to the RFU Injured Players Foundation's annual Client Forum at Twickenham Stadium...The RFU Injured Players Foundation provides information and support to players who sustain catastrophic injury, and uses research and education to help prevent future injuries." That seems good! Everyone also seems very jovial.

Prince Harry

He also tried his hand at archery -- very apropos for a ginger British duke but perhaps not truly meant to be done inside?

Nelson Mandela Centenary Celebration

Here, Eugenie poses with "anti-apartheid icon Andrew Mlangeni" at a celebration of  Nelson Mandela 100th birthday. Well done, and this green is great on her.

Dutch Royal Annual Summer Photocall

The Dutch royals posed for their annual summer photocall before getting to go of on their vacation and I just want to note that (a) Maxima is really working this denim dress, and (b) he REALLY loves her.

Dutch Royal Annual Summer Photocall

AGAIN, what I just said.

Dutch Royal Annual Summer Photocall

This is "Villa Eikenhorst at the Horsten Estate in Wassenaar" and obviously it's hideous!!!

And here's Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane. These are good shots.

Danish royal family

In case you couldn't tell from Crown Prince Frederik's shorts, they too are on summer break.

King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia

Meanwhile, Letizia continues this summer's trend of looking VERY crisp in white at official events. (This is courtesy of her old fave, Felipe Varela. I saw on the Queen Letizia Style blog that the back is a bit sassy.)

King Felipe and Queen Letizia

I continue to be totally in love with this dress. (It is Carolina Herrera.)

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

Last week was the big to-do for Victoria's birthday, which always brings us loads of good snaps -- like this one, where it looks like Vic is about to reinact the opener of The Sound of Music.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday,

Look at how tall Estelle is getting, you guys! I CAN BARELY STAND IT AND SHE'S NOT EVEN MY CHILD.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

She is still, of course, Ms Personality Plus.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

And little Prince Oscar is still the most Grumpy Old Man Child I've ever seen; it never fails to make me laugh.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

He always seems to think that everything, EVERYHING!!!, is a terrible idea and honestly, he may be correct.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday,

There we go.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

Crown Princess Victoria's birthday celebrations seem very involved every year and Estelle is over it.

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

"Eventually, we'll be having these parties for you, too!"

Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday

Victoria always seems so smiley for a person who is so often made to wear traditional ensembles when no one else has to.

Princess Madeleine, Chris O'Neill

Madeleine's dress is a little sheer, but she mostly looks fantastic -- her hair has never looked better.

Princess Sofia of Sweden, Prince Carl Philip

And these two are just flat-out really good-looking. (Sofia's dress is also a mere $46 right now!)

Belgium Royals

I somehow missed this last month. Don't worry about the vacation plans of the royals of Belgium! They did take all their kids and drag them to a series of old buildings.(Here in Villers-la-Ville.) This is the Abbaye de Villers, which, Informative Caption tells me, "was founded in the 12th Century, under the aegis of Saint Bernard." Educational! (In full disclosure, I love an old building.)

Philippe and Mathilde and the soccer team

Here, of course, they're celebrating taking third place in the World Cup. I like Mathilde's skirt!

Eurogym gymnastics festival

And this is a very snazzy pantsuit, honestly. If we could only get her bob to look less like a news anchor's....

Belgian Royals visit to the UK

I hope the Queen continues to pose with visitors in this exact, random spot, and just rotates out the stuff in the hallway, so we can see more of it.

Chaz and Cams

Meanwhile, these two were on an Eat Your Way Through the UK tour, at which they primarily seemed to be instructing the other on the best way to cut a cake.

Chaz and Cams

See? (It was Camilla's birthday. Let her cut her cake in peace, Charles! Don't princesplain how to cut a cake!)

Chaz and Cams

SERIOUSLY so much cake.

Chaz and Cams

Here, Charles seems concerned that Camilla is going to steal this pasty. PROBABLY RIGHTLY SO.

Royals Round-Up, July 20th, 2018

This week's issue has a LOT of cake in it.
