Informative Caption claims that this is "Muggy, a two year old Abysinnian Eagle Owl, at the International Center for Birds of Prey," which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary but I think we all know Anne is sending a message to Hogwarts about You Know Who.

This is "a reception at Trinity House in London for Project Vernon, a campaign to install a monument dedicated to the heritage of HMS Vernon," and I really enjoy the wallpaper at Trinity House (which has a fascinating Wiki page), and also its glassware. I always like to think of Harry being SO BORED when Wills and Kate and the kids are gone. Meghan's working. His family is out of town. SOMEONE ENTERTAIN HIM.

At least he has RAF-y things to keep him busy.

THIS IS AMAZING. It is just what you think: A giant commemorative pasty honoring Camilla, who is visiting Devon and Cornwall at the moment. Oh, to have someone make me a giant commemorative pasty.

And this is "a lemon and Cornish elderflower sponge cake, a 5 tier to represent the Duchess's wedding outfit." That is also DELIGHTFUL.

And it was Camilla's 70th birthday on Monday -- she apparently had a big bash -- and, is the wont of the royals, they handed out a portrait by Mario Testino to mark the occasion. Testino is very good at his job; this is a great shot of both of them.

These are the Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, and they look lovely -- no matter HOW DOUBTFUL Prince Charles, Avid Gardener, appears here.

Her Chaz meets "cadets, pilots and engineers during a tour of RAF Valley" and I am very sad that isn't part of my job.

Her Majesty The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visit Canada House to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation

Here, Informative Caption tells me, "Her Majesty The Queen, attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, visits Canada House on Trafalgar Square to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation.  Her Majesty and The Duke unveiled a new Jubilee Walkway Panel outside Canada House." The gentleman holding the Queen's elbow is the (now former) Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, and apparently there was some pearl-clutching over the fact that he TOUCHED THE QUEEN!! Y'all, he was preventing the Queen from falling down the stairs because SHE'S 90.

This facial expression says, to me, "This jacket is AMAZING and I want one for myself!"

Her brooch

The Queen was also given this brooch at this event and IT IS STUNNING. It was made by the Canadian jeweler Hillberg & Berk and contains Canada's only known sapphires! Let me share with you part of what Governer General Johnston said when he gave it to her:

"We were delighted when you recently wore your maple leaf brooch in a lovely photo you shared with us on Canada Day. We know that that brooch was a gift from your father to your mother on the occasion of her first visit to Canada in 1939.

Today, 78 years later, on behalf of all Canadians, I have the honour of presenting you with a special companion to your maple leaf brooch — a snowflake, shaped like the North Star. This brooch was specially handcrafted for you and features unique Canadian beluga sapphires from Baffin Island in Nunavut and diamonds from northern Canada. We hope that you will be pleased with this gift from the people of Canada."

I mean. How could she not be. IT'S GORGEOUS.

Queen Letizia is back in Spain, just in time for the National Fashion Awards. This is a rather dull look for that event, but I always love those shoes.

Let me once again turn my eyes to Informative Caption: "King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands attend the MH17 remembrance ceremony and the unveiling of the National MH17 monument on July 17, 2017 in Vijfhuizen, Netherlands. The momument is designed by Ronald A. Westerhuis and is placed in a tree park -- 'Green Ribbon' designed by Robbert de Koning -- with 298 trees representing each victim of the MH17 crash on 17 July 2014." That sounds very lovely and moving.

Happy Birthday, Crown Prince Vic! And, as ever, Prince Oscar seems HIGHLY SKEPTICAL of ALL of this. I appreciate the entire family's high level of coordination here -- and Victoria's shoes are cute.

Amazing
