## Queen Elizabeth II's Official Birthday Celebration

Mandatory Credit: Photo by Shutterstock (10678900ar) Queen Elizabeth II Queen Elizabeth II official birthday celebration, Windsor, UK - 13 Jun 2020

Because Trooping the Color was cancelled this year due to coronavirus, they held a tiny parade for the Queen and only the Queen to mark her birthday in Windsor on Saturday. Given the BLM protests in London over this weekend, it feels bizarre that this even happened; to have it occur simultaneously with massive human rights protests is tone-deaf at best to me. It is also disappointing to me that so far, beyond a post from Heads Together, none of the world's active royals that I have seen had said anything about what looks like a watershed global human rights moment.

## Chaz and Camz

Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall visit to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, UK - 16 Jun 2020

Chaz and Cams are out finally, and seem quite happy about it. Here, they're bidding farewell to "frontline key workers who who have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic during a visit to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital." I have to say, I've thought more lately than ever before if whether or not the British monarchy will continue once the Queen dies. I have more doubts than I used to? Not that I, in any way, know what I am talking about.

## French President Emmanuel Macron

MAXPPP OUT Mandatory Credit: Photo by TOLGA AKMEN/POOL/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10683946ae) Britain's Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (L), Britain's Prince Charles, Prince of Wales (C) and French President Emmanuel Macron (R) after a ceremony to present the Legion d'Honneur - France's highest distinction - to London, for services during WW2 at Carlton Gardens in central London, Britain, 18 June 2020\. French President Macron is in London to mark the 80th anniversary of former French president Charles de Gaulle's appeal to French people to resist the Nazi occupation during World War II. French President Emmanuel Macron in London, United Kingdom - 18 Jun 2020

Camz got to go dig out one of her massive hats out of the back of the cupboard because apparently Macron is in London to "present the Legion d'Honneur - France's highest distinction - to London, for services during WW2 \[and\]...to mark the 80th anniversary of former French president Charles de Gaulle's appeal to French people to resist the Nazi occupation during World War II." Resisting Nazis seems like a very pertinent message!

## Prince William

Well. I guess now I own a photo of Wills sticking a thermometer in his ear to make sure he doesn't have a temperature because we're in a global fatal pandemic.

## Wills

He is meeting with "paramedic staff, maintaining social distancing, from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust during a visit to the Ambulance Station in King's Lynn, Norfolk." That seems on brand.

He and Kate also went out today to, I guess, encourage people to go spend money at local small business. You all know how I feel about masks so I will not belabor it here but please know that I did think it. Wills looks like he's thinking, "I've never BOUGHT anything before, how does this work?!" (He's actually just trying to figure out contactless payment.)

Prince William and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge visit to Norfolk, UK - Jun 2020

While he was doing that, Kate went over to Fakenham Garden Centre: "The garden centre is near her Anmer Hall home and, as a keen gardener, the Duchess wanted to hear how the Covid-19 pandemic had affected the family-run independent business, which first opened in 1984." This whole outfit is VERY on-brand for Kate.

## Sophie Wessex

And Sophie "visited Childline's headquarters to thank staff and volunteers for their dedication during the pandemic." Is she wearing camo? (The woman she's speaking to is wearing a fab dress, though.)

## Queen Mathilde visits Groeningemuseum

Well, I think we all knew the mask/dress coordination was coming. I think it honestly looks pretty great?

I know the Dutch aren't doing the mask thing -- please wear masks, friends! -- but I actually feel like of all people, Maxima would get into coordinating masks with her looks. Anyway here she is wistfully watching a child play an accordian.

This outfit is wrinkly, but cute -- and she's never met a GIANT BOW she doesn't love.

I enjoy both of these patterns. (They're in the Royal Cabinet of Natural History at the the Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid, which sounds interesting.)

And this is the "Center for Contemporary Creation, Matadero Madrid," which as I understand it [is a large arts center in a former slaughterhouse](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matadero%5FMadrid?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)? It seems cool. It don't know what this is, but it's VERY visually interesting.

And this "the launch of the 'Spain For Sure' campaign at The Prado Museum." It's an advertising campaign to attract tourists to Spain this summer. I'D LOVE TO GO TO SPAIN THIS SUMMER YOU GUYS. But do you really want Americans? I don't know if I think you should let us in! I'm being totally serious.
