Prince Harry

Prince Rugby popped over to watch the RBS Six Nations game, which was England v. France -- a rivalry that literally spans CENTURIES.

Prince Harry

"Let's admire some rugby thighs!"

Prince Harry

I like to think that this was a totally unplanned photobomb.

Wills and Kate

As ever, I find photos I wish I'd put in the original post, like, forty-five minutes too late -- so we get a double does of these two today. They seemed quite pleased with each other. WHICH I APPRECIATE.

Kate and Wills

There was another photo that wasn't in my subscription in which it looked like Kate was about to give Wills a pat on the bum. This will have to do instead.

King Richard III

Let's kick this open with Informative Caption: "The coffin containing the remains of King Richard III is carried in a procession for interment at Leicester Cathedral on March 22, 2015 in Leicester, England. The skeleton of King Richard III was discovered in 2012 in the foundations of Greyfriars Church, Leicester, 500 years after he was killed in the Battle of Bosworth Field. Richard III's casket will lie inside Leicester Cathedral for public viewing for three days, until 26 March when he will be re-interred during a service attended by members of the royal family. "

Leicester Sees The Reinterment Of King Richard III

This is an incredibly fascinating story. I cannot wait to read the book that is eventually written about the entire process of finding the body. I find it riveting.

Leicester Sees The Reinterment Of King Richard III

INFORMATIVE: "The coffin containing the remains of King Richard III is draped in a specially-embroidered 'pall' and adorned with a crown as it sits in repose inside Leicester Cathedral."

King Richard III Is Finally Laid To Rest

Cumberbunny is currently playing Richard III in a film, and he read a poem at the aforementioned re-interring. He looks very handsome with his hair like that, and also I hope he reads a poem at my funeral. (He'll be a hologram from the beyond, as I plan to outlive him just a bit.)

Sophie Wessex

The Countess of Wessex is the royal who got the nod for this event; I like her hat. (Wills and Kate and Harry were actually at another memorial service at the same time.)

The Queen And Duke Of Edinburgh Visit Kent

QE2 and Phil popped over to Kent to unveil statutes of themselves, as one does. They've never looked more excited to be somewhere.

VOILA!

I feel like...even if you are The Queen, it must be SLIGHTLY WEIRD to have a statue of yourself and your spouse up on a cathedral.

QE2 and Phil in Stone

I want to know whose statutes were REMOVED to make room for these, and what happened to them. Is, like, St Peter now just kicking it in the church basement next to some old hymnals and a couple of mouldering old choir robes?

The Queen And Duke Of Edinburgh Visit Kent

Her Maj, as ever, looks fetching in blue.

QE2 and the Ambassador of Djibouti

"Let's just not even look at it."

Chaz and Cams

Clarence House had a do on Thursday that involved everyone dashing about in these. (It was, per the Clarence House Instagram, "the launch of #TravelsToMyElephant by Elephant Family. The Travels To My Elephant rickshaw race will see a fleet of 30 rickshaws travel 500km across Madhya Pradesh, India, in a race to save Asia's elephants from extinction." Also per the aforementioned Insta, this charity was started by Camilla's late brother, and she and Charles have taken it over.)

Dame Joan Collins!!!!

AT LAST a Dame as well as a dame. I bow to your chapeau, madame.

Maxima and W-A

These two are off to the symphony, and I love Maxima's clutch.

Queen Maxima

Ahem: "Dutch Queen Maxima paints a wall in the sports area of a cultural centre in the village Tricht" as part of a national day of volunteerism. I appreciate how seriously she is taking this, and yet also how voluminous her hair is.

Crown Princess Victoria

Crown Vic is on a trip to South Korea and I wish someone had told her we can see her bra in this! CROWN VIC LET'S BE FRIENDS. I will ALWAYS help you with these things!

Crown Princess Victoria

I enjoy thinking of his as her ARMY OF DUDES. (I also learned in our giveaway post that she has FACE BLINDNESS! That must make her life hard.)

Crown Princess Victoria

I am not sure I think this is totally the best thing she could have stuck on her head?

Crown Princess Victoria

She LOVES this color.

King Felipe Of Spain and Queen Letizia Of Spain On Official Visit In France

In shallow news, I think they both look lovely here. In more serious news, this official visit to France was cancelled basically as soon as it began, due to the terrible Germanwings plane crash, which happened as they too were traveling. It's so sad and terrible.

Queen Margrethe

Ahem: "Danish Queen Margrethe inspects the exhibition 'Her Majesty the Queen 75 years - a costume cavalcade' ...The special exhibition is a costume cavalcade of the queen's life." I give Informative Caption props for using the world CAVALCADE.

Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Dries Van Noten

Queen Mathilde is now in a wheelchair! I am worried about her leg but not so worried that I have looked up what actually happened to her! Anyway, she and Dries Van Noten here went to look at an exhibition of Dries's work. "Yes, I did ALL OF THIS. I really AM talented!"

Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik

Don't fall in, Fred.

CPM, CPF, Princess Takamado and Princess Tsuguko

The Crown Princes are travelling about to, and I quote Informative Caption, "promote Greenland." I LOVE this dress on Mary, whose worn it several times before.

Princess Tsuguko is the one who was on the list of Forbes 20th Hottest Royals, NOT the one who doesn't want to do anything her parents are making her do. Which is how I keep the Japanese Princesses straight in my head at the moment. Her mother, with her here, met their father (the Prince) when she was an interpreter, and I do think Prince Falls for Dishy Interpreter is a GOOD STORY.

Royals Round-Up, March 27th, 2015
We had an outing from Kate and Wills earlier today, which you can find in all its glory here. But that doesn't mean this post isn't full of STUFF. We've got everything from dead kings interred somewhere more appropriate than a car park to Harry at a rugby match to Maxima very seriously painting a wall to Eggs Benedict Cucumber Sandwich to Joan Collins. Elsewhere on GFY, if you haven't entered our final giveaway of The Royal We, you must! The contest is open to everyone, and in addition to a signed copy of The Royal We, we are giving away all kinds of goodies. Elsewhere elsewhere: Maclean's coverage of Richard III's reburial has been exceptionally interesting. Here's coverage of the ceremony itself, and you HAVE TO read this piece about Richard's descendant who built his coffin. It is FASCINATING and so, so good. History Extra from the BBC also had a good piece about public interest in Richard's burial. And her Maj also wrote him a tribute, so I guess they're all square now. As a Plantagenet, I am PLEASED. Royal Central has a primer on the changes in the royal succession laws that have FINALLY PASSED. I love that bits about people who are now BACK IN to the line of succession. Also at Royal Central, a first person account of meeting Prince Charles whilst he was in the US this week. Exciting! (It was RoyalObsessedinUS, who I know from Twitter!) Kate released a statement to The Times this week about the importance of children's mental health, which is something she speaks out about a lot, and is obviously a huge priority for her. Good on you, Kate. People has a piece about Harry being spotted at Cressy's opening night of h"er most recent stage effort. This is cute. A bunch of school children wrote Kate and Wills letters -- with top tips for getting Prince George to sleep" -- and they got letters back. I mean, how could you not? (Stamford Mercury) Chaz gave a speech about Earth Hour UK and yeah yeah yeah we're all excited to save the planet, but we're also excited about the very cute new picture of George he's got displayed behind him. That is perhaps a bit of a response to the Daily Mail's "CHARLES NEVER SEES HIS GRANDCHILD" palaver of a few weeks back. (And good on him for it.) Celebs and royals photographer Dave Benett's Instagram seems awesome, and our friend over at Duchess Diaries has rounded up some of his best snaps. There is a shot of Prince Charles, Prince, and Donatella Versace, and I totally thought Donatella was Lady Gaga. Hello's got a good piece on the current wagering on Baby Cambridge #2's name, and I'd like to remind you all that I've been saying "Alice" for MONTHS NOW. I shall be SO SMUG if I am correct. This is one of the reasons I enjoy Tatler so much: When the Countess of Harrowby isn't writing racy novels, she keeps herself busy renovating Sandon Hall, her family's glorious neo-Jacobean stately. INDEED SHE IS. And, from the Telegraph, this is SO FASCINATING:Bamber Gascoigne, the broadcaster, is to sell more than £2.2 million of treasures to help save West Horsley Place after 'accidentally' inheriting 50-room mansion This is great! The Court Jeweller has loads of updates about the upcoming Swedish Royal Wedding. It was Princess Eugenie's 25th this week (I always think she's older than that; don't ask me why) and Hello! of course covered it in their usual fashion. We talked to Paper magazine about the royals, The Royals, and The Royal We.   [Photos: Getty, Koen van Weel/AFP/Getty Images, LISELOTTE SABROE/AFP/Getty]
