I can't look at this photo without giggling. This is obviously now pinned to the dartboard on the back of Harry's bedroom door, and it's definitely going to be the photo Kate uses for Wills's 35th birthday party evite.
I think it reflects well for Wills that the flat-out most-amused I've ever seen him at an event is here, where he watched people carefully glue on man-wigs. I think we're all making the same joke. (I believe they originally offered to have him wear the wig, and he said Harry would never let him hear the end of it, which....yes.)
These small children are adorable, and that screen in the background is fantastic. (I don't know what they're doing here, but it involves some kind of Wii-related shenanigans and it looks fun.)
This trip apparently also involved juggling....
...ceremonial outfits...
...and, per Informative Caption, being "greeted by Lion Dancers performing in a Shishimai Ceremony at Chime of Hope Shopping Centre." This bite on the head is for good luck, I learned in People.
Informative caption also tells us that here, Wills is "[examining] the 2011 Tsunami high tide mark at Ishinomaki's local newspaper office," so it wasn't ALL wackiness and tree-planting. That is terrifyingly high.
I don't even know what is happening here. It looks like a wee armchair attached to this bike. This seems like it could end badly.
"This trip is getting kind of weird, you guys."
After all the costumed shenanigans, I feel like someone marched into the living room of his hotel suite and was like, "please tell me I am doing something substantial tomorrow." And then he went to China and met with the president.
"So....awesome mural. Glad to see we both got the memo on the dress code."
This is the "GREAT Festival of Creativity at the Long Museum," and it also happens to be quite picturesque.
It's not officially a Young Royals Tour unless someone plays soccerfootball. Everyone is happier after they get to kick something real hard.
Informative Caption is getting a workout in this week's round-up. Here, it tells us that Wills "paints the eye of 'Shaun the Sheep,'" presumably part of lunar New Year celebrations.
"I MISS YOU KATE. LOOK HOW ALONE I AM."
That background LOOKS like a mural, but I think it is real. Here, Wills "delivers a speech about the illegal wildlife trade, at the Botanical Gardens." Which is a big cause for him, and it is unfortunate that apparently this location is right next to a place where elephants perform for tourists. Someone on his team should have realized that.
"Right, elephant?"
"Correct, sir."
"I like your trunk."
"I appreciate your forearms."
"EVEN IN CHINA MY EYES ARE UPON YOU."
Speaking of Her Maj, she is hosting Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and his wife, Angelica Rivera de Pena, this week. She seems to be enjoying it.
I feel like Angelica here was like, "WHAT do I WEAR to this? I MUST LOOK TO KATE FOR GUIDENCE." I believe this coat is even McQueen. If you're going Kate, go Full McQueen is what I always say. (I think this coat is lovely, but maybe needed to be taken up a weeeeee smidge so the waist is a tiny bit higher? It just looks a hair too big on her. Camz, as ever, is wearing some form of wreath atop her noggin.)
I feel like she has to be thinking, "WHEE THIS IS SO FUN I NEVER GET TO DO THIS." I also think it's no coincidence that Prince Philip got to ride with the lovely young woman in this scenario.
Everyone here looks swell -- she went nearly Full Lupita At The 2014 Globes, and I always approve of that -- but I just fell into a Wikipedia wormhole reading about Nieto. Mexican Fug Nationals, please tell me more, because Wiki has insinuated that he might have murdered his first wife. THAT SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS ACCUSATION, even for Wikipedia. And that his current wife here was a soap opera star whom he hired to do "PR" for his campaign. (After his first wife's death.) And that he had a son with someone else, whilst married to Wife #1. And...a whole lot of stuff. It's quite fascinating, in that gossip-y and undependable Wikipedia way. Seriously, it's like the esteemed editors of Wikipedia know that we all just scroll down to the "personal life" section.
What a totally boring and not-at-all-gilded room. (There is a scene in The Royal We that takes place in this exact room, in fact. Book trivia!)
She looks nice, no? (I am not a personal fan of those shoes, though.) Although I had heard she was in Los Angeles taking a finance course and I was just about to stalk skulking around to see if I could find her and...I don't know. I guess just tweet that I'd seen her in line at the market buying Peeps or whatever. I suppose it's just as well.
I quite like this tartan skirt on Mary. (You can't tell so much from this pic, but the leather [!] top seems maybe a LITTTTTLE squashy on her.)
This is ideal for a low-key meeting at the firm with ADA Letizia.
"Yes, I am STILL ON CRUTCHES. I know."
I think we've seen this on Letizia before, but it's pretty on her, and God knows I love that tiara.
This is very jazzy for her. (I like it,)
I also like this skirt. I feel like Letizia has kicked it up a little bit in the past couple of weeks.
This is apparently the opening of "the Maxima Channel." Per Informative Caption: " The Maxima Channel is a new waterway of 9 kilometers east of Hertogenbosch and runs from the Maas to the South Willemsvaart in Den Dungen. " What a lovely thing to have a channel named after you! I appreciate that she went full leopard-print for the occasion.
The Norwegians are an attractive group.
But it's possible that no one is cuter than Princess Estelle.
