Informative Caption tells me that these two are "arriving for the gala dinner for the Corps Diplomatic at the Royal Palace," and Maxima looks approximately one million times fancier than W-A does. Did the airline for which he flies lose his luggage?!?

We had a LOT of looks at Bea and Euj this week; Eugenie went to two Buckingham Palace Garden Parties alone! This is pretty!

Apparently, this is the "Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards 2017 at The Savoy in London," which okay. Sure! Fine. I am sure the girls know a lot about luxury travel, honestly. I also have notes: I thought Euj was wearing a hoodie, at first, and that Bea was wearing her bedroom slippers. This was an emotional ride!

The Yorks -- well, Bea and Fergie -- also popped over to Cannes this week. Bea gets a lot of flack from the press for all the trips she takes and from what I can deal, she DOES NOT CARE. Which, good for her, I suppose? It's all going to be interesting to see how her life shakes out.

Two questions: (a) does Philip's tie have BOOKS on it? I've decided yes. And (b) why does Sophie wear this dress? It's so droopy!

And it's exciting to see the entire flowered frock under her coat, for once! This whole look is cheery as hell.

This same day, the Queen visited victims of the awful, awful Manchester bombing. Let me briefly turn to Informative Caption: "Queen Elizabeth II speaks to Millie Robson, 15, from Co Durham, and her mother, Marie, during a visit to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital to meet victims of the terror attack... and to thank members of staff who treated them." It was very right and good for her to go and visit everyone -- it was an absolutely terrible thing that happened, and I cannot imagine she isn't as shocked and heartbroken about it as everyone. I will note that there is something very heartwarming about this photo. Sweet Millie has been through something absolutely awful, and she's still making the "omg it's the QUEEN" face, while the Queen is making the "IT IS ME!" face. There's something about how perfectly normal everyone's facial expressions are here that is touching to me. It say something about the human capacity to experience trauma and emerge from it, still your essential self. Oh, Manchester, you are in our thoughts and hearts.

Obviously, this is what Prince Haakon of Norway is up to, meanwhile. The Viking is "handi-surf champion Ismael Guilliorit" and this is the "ISA World Surfing Games." The women in the background is the mayor of Kleppe, Ane Mari Braut Nese, and I originally misread Informative Caption as saying that the Viking was the mayor, and I thought, "WOW, Kleppe seems fun!
