HRH Princess Benedikte, for your info, was a bridesmaid at Juan Carlos and Sophia of Spain's wedding, and her husband's father was a Nazi, who was declared dead in the 1960s. I read a very interesting bit of gossip -- I know, I know, these things are unsubstantiated -- wondering if the increasing embrace of Fergie this year ([she had her birthday party at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, even](https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/521633/The-Queen-lets-Fergie-celebrate-her-birthday-at-Windsor-Castle?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)) is a sign that a York Sister engagement is eminent and they want to make nice with Fergs for Maximum Lack of Awkwardness. Which would be nice. (Philip, who hates her, is just going to have to deal.) (Maybe Fergie and Andrew can get remarried in a dual ceremony with one of their daughters. Wikipedia was not very hot on National Day -- and it's basically the best. Every mother and child in the world have exchanged those looks. ## King Felipe, Queen Letizia, crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/spl862347_027.xml) The girls, of course, cheered up for the goat! I wonder if this goat knows Harry's goat. Letizia looks like she just had a big fight with both of them and is just getting through this event if it KILLS HER. Richard Flanagan's winning book is called *The Narrow Road to the Deep North*, and is apparently ["a remarkable love story as well as a story about human suffering and comradeship." ELSEWHERE for your enjoyment: The Telegraph has video of Harry's speech at his event last night. Someone should do a study on the reason why Americans are SO INTO that accent, because although I cannot speak for all of my fellow countrypersons, I feel safe in saying it's extremely effective on most of us. (And not just the posh Harry accent. We will take almost any British accent. Or at least, I will.) I'm sure it has to do with some deeply Freudian Revolution something something crossed with some yada about the early days of the movies. One of you, get on that. Well, it did NOT sell at auction -- Kate was clearly too sick to pull it together to buy it and hang it over the fireplace to torture Wills -- and was finally bought by a "private collector."
