I love a good Balcony Smooch.
Any kind of smooch, actually.
I even like a half-hearted hug from statues.
I love this tiara. It might be my favorite of all the tiaras in all the lands.
I like it so much, I pulled two photos of it. I also wonder if Letizia and Kate ever get on the phone to chat about the best places to get black lace gowns.
I LOVED this dress on her.
And this one is also fabulous.
I think we're all happy that Felipe kept the beard this year.
I also love this on Letizia. She NEVER wears this silhouette, and it's so flattering on her. Queen Mathilde looks like she's regretting wearing a feathered wreath on her head.
They look so festive here! And cold.
This was a great blazer.
And all of this works. This is like the best of her Sensible ADA Tendencies, sort of jazzed up.
I approve strongly of the red lip.
I like to think that Letizia just accepted that she was never going to look as dramatic as Lalla Salma when she and Felipe visited Morocco and decided to just give in and beige it up.

I cannot look at this photo without laughing.
Felipe: One of the few men who can really pull off white jeans in a non-polo capacity.
"No, seriously. Everyone really DOES look hotter in sunglasses."
I am OBSESSED with this dress on CPM. It's so glam.
I ALSO love this skirt (and how delighted CPF looks here).
Remember that time the Danish Royal Family made a lush and luxurious olive oil ad?
Or when we decided this was her Facebook profile picture.
In which CPF feels uneasy in an uncharacteristic (but fetching!) grey suit.
"Call Kate and tell her about this great new striped shirt designer I discovered. No, CALL HER NOW."
This is wacky in a way that really works.
Ditto.
I covet this coat.
And admire this pillbox hat.

And just flat-out love this hat.
This is ALSO fabulous. CPM had an extremely successful year, fashion-wise.
Even in this. (It's traditional! And festive! And annoying to small children, which is always a plus.)
I enjoy this child.

Speaking of people I enjoy, at the World Cup.
I feel like Maxima ALWAYS has a good time, everywhere.
Even when she's wearing THIS INSANE WHATEVER THIS IS.

Or whatever this might possibly be atop her head.
Or she's dressed like part of Princess Anne's Army of Royal Spies. (Princess Anne will get some attention paid to her later, don't worry.)
I actually think this outfit is amazing, but I also enjoy how the Out of Focus Man behind her seems SHOCKED TO THE CORE by her hat.
W-A is like, "MY WIFE IS THE BEST!" She IS wearing the hell out of her tiara here.
And she does not shy from a giant shiny sleeve.
Nor from a GIANT HUGE GOWN and a SWEEPING CAPE.
Maxima. This hat is bonkers!
But I secretly love this.
And I legitimately adore this coat.
Bye, Maxima! See you next year!
Over briefly to the Swedes, where this was easily one of the gowns of the year.
This is, I believe, a sustainable dress from H&M and she also has it in black, and honestly both of them leave me...well, not cold. Lukewarm. But it's hard to top that red gown, regardless.
This skirt is terrifically sassy
I'm pretty sure that necklace is glamorous and fun.
And THIS necklace is definitely made of candy.
Wee Princess Estelle has so much personality.

For example, here, Princess Estelle DOES NOT CARE about her little cousin's christening.
I never deny an opportunity to ogle the swim trunks of others.
BABIES!

The wave! (In the spirit of kindness, I decide not to show you the pants Charlene was wearing at this event. THEY WERE HORRIBLE and they also were what made me think she was pregnant, which she was. Your pants cannot fool me, Charlene.)
Shirtless Princes Holding Babies: An Unauthorized Calendar that I'm working on right now.
Unimpressed Royal Babies of the World: the OTHER calendar I'm working on.
Here, perhaps Charlotte's most glam look. I LOVE this dress.
Although this, too, is grand. Keep it up, Charlotte!
I feel like Maxima sent this hat to Mathilde as a joke, but Mathilde didn't get it.
Although she too apparently loves a HUGE HAT. This thing gets its own zip code.
This photo is meaningful me for two reasons: (a) I think Mathilde looks amazing and (b) this photo was the one that began our long-running joke about how much QE2 hates her rug. MEMORIES!
