I stand by my assertion when that it may well be the Wills and Harry Photo of the Year. We have LOTS of other ones to look at, though. Get ready. Pour a G&T and join me. Yes, I know it's early. But do you REALLY think you're going to get any work done today?
It's apt that Harry wears #2 on his polo jersey, as he is the spare (not emotionally, Harry, never emotionally). It's also nice of William NOT to wear #1, as that might be too obvious.
It seems I spent a lot of this year showing you pictures of people's butts in white polo pants. AND I REGRET NOTHING.
There was literally no way that I was going to allow this holiday season of blessing and gifts to pass without re-posting this photo.
In which Kate is wearing her favorite shirt. (And Wills is wearing his favorite belt. He loves that belt.) I enjoy that something about the composition of this photo makes it look like Kate's having a chat with the horse.

This child has spent all year being like, "LET ME GO PLEASE, I HAVE PLACES TO GO THANK YOU VERY MUCH."
Then there was that time that the nice people in Oman gave Harry a sword. (The royals get a lot of violent gifts. Remember when William got a spear?)
REMEMBER?
Remember when Harry went to hang out with British troops in Kandahar for Remembrance Sunday and we cast this movie with Bradley Cooper and Liam Hemsworth, and it was really swoony and sad and satisfying?
Ginger Spice and Ginger Spice, together again. I feel like this could end in scandal and recriminations.
Do NOT let Harry do your retirement planning.
I still want to know what this girl said to him, because it was clearly cheeky, and I'm sure we'd all approve.
Thumbs up!
Next year, I hope we see the choreographed routine he's clearly been working on.

Oh, Edwina. We had such high hopes. #NeverForget. 2015 could still be your year!
I shall also never forget these jeans.
HELLO.
Let us celebrate a formal event that doesn't require a yellow waistcoat.

Harry's trip to Chile this year was perhaps not the MOST dignified event.

Hey, remember Cressida? (The brothers Wales have an attraction to women with good hair. Presumably to even the genetic scales for their children.)
Perk up, Buttercup. You'll meet a nice girl eventually.
While you wait, why don't you just keep doing things like this?
EXACTLY.
And there are always pygmy albino hedgehogs to cuddle...
....goats to love!
Sheep to speak with!
William is, if I may be so bold, super hot when he's wearing a hat.
When I ran this photo the first time, I believe I said that if I were Kate, I'd make him wear this around the house and I stand by that.
So does she, I think.
Everyone DOES look hotter in sunglasses.
And now we're all reminded that I cannot resist these two at sporting events.

It's just that their facial expressions speak to me as a fellow sports fan. They're VERY realistic.

This is such a joyous moment of SUCK IT!
And "THAT was a FOUL!"
"No, it really was the most flagrant foul. I don't like seeing people treating my friend LeBron like that."
My true love is the McQueen Coat. Not this one specifically. The UNIVERSAL McQueen Coat. Or maybe one that you'll see later in this slideshow. ANTICIPATION.
I also enjoy all Wistful Gazing Out of Carriage Windows. It always looks romantic, even if what the Gazer in Question is actually thinking is, "I'd stab William with a hat pin for a burrito right now."
Coats! This year had SO many of them. SO MANY COATS.
MORE COATS!
If this is hand-CLUTCHING....
...that's actual holding.
I want to hold hands with that coat. Both coats. All coats. (THIS is my actual favorite coat and perhaps why I accidentally bought a dress AND pants AND a scarf in black watch tartan. When I wear them all together, everyone leaves me alone, so that's nice.)
It appears this is the Cozy Hand-Holding Section of this slideshow.
Also the These Credentials Are Secretly A Dangerous Choking Hazard section.
Rumor has it that JOHNNY DEPP bought this when it finally did go for sale. I have such weird feelings about that. (As, I assume, does Kate, potentially.) #NoDisrespectToDepp

"I don't know WHY he bought it, Binderclips! Why does Johnny Depp do anything?!"

Lo, but I miss The Beard of Christmas Past. I want them BOTH to show up Bearded this Christmas. Nay, of all of them. EVERYONE IN BEARDS.
Down the hatch, Wills! (Along with revealing plaques via tiny tiny curtains, Royal Duties appear to involve a lot of Ceremonial Boozing.)

I assume this hangs in Kate's bathroom, over the magical potions she uses to make her hair do that thing that it does.

"This guy. THIS is the GUY." (Becks is like, "I kind of AM the guy.")
It's possible that my favorite thing about this photo from this year's Order of the Garter ceremony is Sophie's crazy Boa Neckpiece, floating gently behind William's head. She seems to be mediating about it. (We'll get to more Sophie and the rest of the Brits later today.)
BOTH OF YOU, don't EVER, EVER wear those pants again. NOT EVER. You'd have been better off in cycling singlets.
I assume this is the photo on the front of the Cambridges' Christmas card?
This is the time Wills secretly delighted in patting a statute of a famous cat.

I love this shot. It's so INSTAGRAM-Y and look at that baby and that dog.

This is the one where the Palace released a statement assuring us that no butterflies were harmed in the making of the photo, despite the fact that George clearly wants to EAT THAT BUG PLEASE. (I also like the drool on Kate's shoulder.)
Get ready to coo over how much someone's grown.
Look how much he's grown!
This is where I remind you that, when this happened originally, I put on these wedges and tried to jump over a giant Crate and Barrel candle to see how tough it was. (TOUGH.)
That dress was repeated (I think) when they all went out to see the poppies at the Tower, which I am very sorry I never got to see in person, because they were so stunning.
It was a year full of pointing.
And some gloating.
And blazer buttoning and unbuttoning.
And boyish rough-housing.
And lengthy discussion about what might be wrong with Harry and if it needs to be cured or encouraged.

Beautiful ceremonial dogs were pet.
JOAN COLLINS (and Richard E Grant ) showed up and she looked AMAZING. I really hope she was giving Kate advice on when to pull out the festive holiday fur turban. (This week. This is the week.)
I feel like the Festive Pillbox is the distant cousin to the fur turban. We will get there eventually.
I also approve of these cheeks.

And of besting your spouse in a yacht race (even if he is second in line to the throne. TOO BAD. WHO CARES. BOAT FASTER, THEN.)
I also approve of William wearing a baseball cap as often as possible.
Wait, I hope THIS is their holiday card.

This is actually probably their real holiday card. (It IS on their piano. I bet. I'd bet A LOT.)

This photo is on MY piano.

Get in the plane, Kate!

"I only get in the most modern of planes, thank you very much."

I love this coat, but what I really love are these twins watering this tree. I LOVE THEM.
PLEASE ALLOW ME TO LEVITATE NOW DADDY. LEVITATION. NOW. STOP INSISTING THAT I HIDE MY MAGIC FROM THE MUGGLES. THANK YOU.

This is a very squirmy child.
George IS TOTALLY OVER AIR TRAVEL, despite the fact that no one makes him remove HIS shoes.
SITTING STILL ON AN AEROPLACE IS SO BORING MOTHER. IT'S SO SO BORING. I DON'T THINK YOU REALIZE HOW BORING IT IS FOR ME SO PLEASE WHY DON'T WE JUST STAND OVER THERE INSTEAD? THANK YOU.
In case you forgot that William strongly resembles his mother.
Hideous surroundings.

Just unbearably unphotogenic.
This is going to be the traditional slide in which I give a round of applause to all the photographers who ran around after the royals all over the world this year. They turned out some extremely good work, and I appreciate them. And also this dress.

If only they'd thought to bring this home for Harry

Speaking of great pictures. How INSANE is this? This has to be so, so surreal for her when she stops to think about it.

That koala is totally unimpressed.
I could look at pictures of this child being squirmy and imperious at the zoo all day.
And ergo so will you. Never has a face been SO AGGRIEVED by the simple fact that his mother will not let him run free around a public zoo full of curious tall strangers.
NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THAT I SIMPLY WOULD LIKE TO RUN THROUGH THE WILD ANIMALS PLEASE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NO ONE SEEMS TO THINK THAT THIS IS A GOOD IDEA. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS TOTALLY REASONABLE SUGGESTION.
Aw.
And then a gourd dressed like Kate showed up. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO US ALL.
