That provided a good segue for me! Harry was up at Balmoral this weekend -- apparently, now that QE2 and Phil are older, the younger royals take turns hosting the shooting, and it was Harry's turn this past weekend. And Euj brought her boyfriend, which ABSOLUTELY means they are engaged or about to be. Also: I have concerns that Eugenie has a bird nesting in her hair here.

Shire Horses Mow The Lawn At Kensington Palace
I thought this was interesting and Caption was sincerely Informative: "Shire horses Heath, 10, (white) and Tom, 8, (brown) pull an antique horse drawn mower driven by Edward MacDowell and guided by Tom Nickson as they cut the meadow at Kensington Palace....The horses are usually residents at Hampton Court Palace, but were called into the heart of the capital by the Historic Royal Palaces gardens team to assist with the centuries-old traditional mowing of the meadow." (Also, I feel like I need to ethically disclose that sometimes I fix the grammar of Informative Caption.) I hope George and Char were home to watch this out the window.
Queen Victoria Statue At Kensington Palace Is Re-touched
This is also SUPER interesting: "Stone conservator Lou Ashon cleans a statue of Queen Victoria with a soft bristled brush and water during restoration work at Kensington Palace.... Unveiled outside her childhood home by Queen Victoria herself on 28 June 1893, the statue has seen some turbulent events over the last century, including losing the tip of its nose during bomb damage in the Second World War. The conservation cleaning -- which will see the statue cleaned of years' worth of grime and pollutants -- has been commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that cares for the palace's State Apartments. " YAY for Historic Royal Palaces -- which, by the way, I also follow on Twitter and Instagram, and so should you, if this kind of thing is your jam.

"The Earl of Wessex kisses the Countess of Wessex as she leaves the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh at the start of a 450 mile cycle ride to Buckingham Palace in London, for her 'DofE Diamond Challenge' which marks the 60th anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme." (I like the phrase "Award Scheme," which to Americans at least implies that Phil is plotting how to get himself some awards.) He also saw Sophie off on this trip, and there was a pic that I wasn't able to get where Edward is like JOVIALLY WAVING as Sophs biked off. It felt very "HAVE FUN STORMING THE CASTLE!"

It's the opening of Parliament over in the Netherlands and OBVIOUSLY that calls for a giant hat. (Some of the Informative Captions refer to this event as "Budget Day," which always makes me laugh, like this is the day where the government tells Max to buy like four fewer hats a year.) I hope she wears those earrings when Kate visits the Netherlands in October, because they'll coordinate with Kate's ring.
