Harry left Meghan and Archie in Cape Town and went to Botswana and Angola (and eventually, I believe, Malawi) for a few days; here, he's at "a tree planting event with local school children, at the Chobe National Park, Botswana." (a) This child is VERY cute and (b) that National Park looks great and I don't get why I'm not on a safari right now.

Here, Harry is pictured with the founder of something called Elephants Without Borders, Dr Mike Chase, and I assume they're talking about how well they coordinated their outfits. Hooray for elephants, also.

Here, of course, he's walking through a minefield with Halo, the same landmine clearance charity with whom Diana did her own VERY famous Walk Through a Minefield -- a very good cause that was also amazingly metaphorical; Diana knew what she was doing.

The Duke is visiting the minefield where his late mother, the Princess of Wales, was photographed in 1997, which is now a busy street with schools, shops and houses. Prince Harry visit to Angola - 27 Sep 2019

In fact, the area that Diana walked through has, in the last thirty years, been totally cleared of mines and is now a bustling area of town, which is a wonderful thing. This is the Diana Tree, which marks the spot where she was so famously photographed. I wonder if William and Harry ever feel overwhelmed by how often strangers are like, "come here and contemplate your dead mother for us." It's often totally appropriate -- it certainly is here -- and I can imagine it would be a huge comfort to know that a person you loved so much is also loved by others, and her memory will never be forgotten, but it seems like it might get emotionally difficult. TONAL SHIFT! I love those planters.

Harry also visited the Princess Diana Orthopaedic Centre, and this is one Mr. Barnaby Jose Mar, and he looks like a very cute little brave little muffin indeed.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, Chaz and
Princess Beatrix attended commemorations of the Operation Market Garden 75th anniversary. (Beatrix looks like she's regretting not pulling out her own camo for the occasion.) Operation Market Garden -- which I don't think I learned about in school -- was a failed attempt to push the Nazis back out of the Netherlands over the Rhine.

No one loves talking about financial inclusion the way Maxima does! (She does have a masters degree in economics and worked for a bunch of banks, so.)

People are INTO dots right now. (Here, they're in Gran Canaria to check out part of the country that was devastated by wildfires, so it's good she doesn't look too flashy.)
