Let's start with the gown from the front, where it seems almost severe, or at least austere. There's hints of color, but that's it; Ruth's face is so great that she's selling it, as if she's the robed Pope of her own religion.

Then from the side there are hints of drama, and a pretty skirt visible underneath. It suits so well the idea of contrasts, and playing two sides of something.

And then. How awesome is THAT. I would buy that in a plate, a vase, an urn, or a makeshift holy book that purports to teach me her ways in exchange for my life savings.
