This is custom, and the color looked SLIGHTLY different in all the photos and on TV, but this seems to be the depth of hue I saw the most consistently. It's a slightly neon red, and it's tremendous. The dress suits her style to a tee, which it ought because it's custom-made, but in the harsh light of morning I'm worried the top is a bit too slight. It certainly photographs as if we're seeing a LOT more of her chest than I think we might actually be.

Up close it certainly looks less... intimate. The whole Maybe This IS My Nightgown; You Don't Know My Life aesthetic works for her.

HOWEVER: This, to me, was the dress of her weekend. I LOVE IT. She chose perfectly for the Independent Spirits, which are the chill and breezier cousin of the Oscars. (Literally, perhaps, as they're held essentially on the beach in Santa Monica.) I love everything about this.

Here's one with a better view of her clutch, which is also dreamy with it. This is one of my favorite looks of the whole WEEKEND, not just the Independent Spirits.

Did you know Colin Firth was a producer on Loving? This photo is brought to you by I'm So Glad I Have More Excuses To Post Colin Firth Pics.

This is so bonkers that I laughed out loud in abject glee. She looks like an angel who is SO F'ING TIRED of her day job, and just wants to fall into a whiskey straight-up and some sweet, refreshing mischief that might get her fired.
