Let's start with Allison Janney, because more things in life should. She looks great, and also as if she just shouted, RROWR, and is about to tear into that little muscular man with her jaws. Love. Remember when she was Ms. Perky in 10 Things I Hate About You, and watching her felt like we were discovering this great comedic secret? Well, it's out now. Has been for a long time. And I love it.

This is fine. I actually like this a lot more now than I did on TV, where it just looked bunchy and drab. Something tells me if Michelle Williams had arrived in this, we'd have gone bonkers over it, so I want to give Ms. Agron a fair shake here -- especially because I am COMPLETELY letting my disinterest in the Heidi hair affect my opinion.

Seriously, somebody at Marchesa has been reading -- and disliking -- their own press lately. Everyone in a Marchesa wore an understated oone, and I think Sofia's was the best. She just makes it so hard to take your eyes off her.

Although, full disclosure, you need to know the bodice was a lot more extra-dimensional than it looked in that first picture. Usually these scare me -- why is it running away from her skin? Can you see down it? What if she drops a sandwich in there? But on Sofia it seems to fit fine.

This looked good on the telecast. I think perhaps I like the idea of it better than the execution -- those chunky purple shoes are off-putting (seriously, why did everyone match their freaking footwear to their outfits this time? Is there a monochromatic alien race holding plasma guns to people's heads?), and the shoulder detail here looks a bit like very curious pearl serpents hunting for an innocent on whom to push a tainted apple.

It also had a drapey back. Not so much a capey back, really, which was my initial thought. The open part helps sell it for me, but on the whole, the photos don't quite do it justice and so I'm almost talking myself out of liking it as I type. I'm so fickle.

Damn! Ted Danson is a lucky dude. So is Doc Brown.
