Laura Carmichael

Now THAT is a bracelet that has answered the call. This is quite good. Kill it, Edith. KILL IT HARD.

Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Kevin Doyle (Molesley), Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes), David Robb (Dr. Clarkson)

I love Mrs. Patmore's coat. Molesley cleans up nicely. Mrs. Hughes is a dish, although I wish her dress weren't pointing to her downtown abbey. And I kind of love Dr. Clarkson with a flowing mane. Maybe if he grew it out on the show, Isobel Crawley wouldn't be able to resist running her fingers through it.

Cara Theobold

Very pretty, and what a face. No wonder Alfred and maybe Jimmy are all over it.

Sophie McShera

Daisy is also lovely, although this dress is not my favorite. Recently someone did a piece asking the Downtonites which characters they'd rather play (it might have been Us?) and Hugh Bonneville said, "Daisy, because she's cute," or something, and for some reason the way I read it felt like he was talking about Sophie McShera. I can't wait for the Earl of Grantham to get embroiled in a scandal with Daisy.

Sophie's dress looks like some manner of monstrous blouse, but Cara's outfit is great. And Mrs. Patmore has on her favorite platform sandals. Every cook needs arch support, it's true. Thank God Crocs hadn't been invented in Downton times.

Laura Carmichael

And we end where we began. I don't dislike this as much as perhaps I ought, but are the proportions strange? Short skirt plus cropped sleeves might be the wrong move, and her ankles might be in demi-spats.

SAG Awards Fugs and Fabs: The Other Downtonites
It never stops thrilling me when Laura Carmichael shows up places looking delightful, because people are so mean about Poor Edith on the show and in real life. The Untimely Departure of Matthew may have been the best thing that ever happened to her, because she's gotten a lively wardrobe upgrade and Lady Mary is stuck grieving and walking the land.
