Kelly Osbourne

This is a Jenny Packham, and it's so nice on Kelly. Actually, I could see Duchess Kate wearing it, perhaps in a color (or a pale pink) rather than black. Really good score for her, which makes it even sadder that apparently -- per the gibberish telecast -- she was standing near... some kind of water-related accident, and it got all wet? I don't even know. You guys, half of what was going on made no sense.

Giuliana Rancic

This is also a lot better -- nice bold color, and the cut is flattering but not trying too hard. Unlike, sadly, Giuliana when she hosts these things. In the interest of fairness, though, I am sure I would ALSO come off like a dolt when trying to invent questions for people -- I have heard myself on tape during Fashion Week and it makes me want to behead myself -- AND I think one never realizes how good Seacrest is at his job until he's not the one doing it. So Giuliana is kind of like his insurance policy. As long as she exists, he will get raises.

Let's cut to the hair. Kelly's looked marvelous, I thought. Just totally classy and adorable. So much so that I don't even care that it's Bridesmaid Lilac.

She fared less well. That is way too heavy on one side of her head. However, can we give up a cheer that she's not still trying to be blonde? That phase REALLY emphasized her bronzer problem. Brunette suits her much better.

SAG Awards Much Better Played: Kelly O and Giuliana

These were two of my least favorites at the Globes, and in fact, Giuliana was Fug Nation's third-worst dressed person for that event. So HOORAY for their stylists getting it right this time; however, this has me very concerned for both of them that all the fashion mojo was wasted on a red-carpet show nobody watches (and which appeared, cheerfully, to have been produced by inebriated zoo animals), and that come Oscar time we will be back to Questionable City.
