It's Double-Breasted Coat/Hand-Holding Thursday over at Casa Cambridge.
I enjoy how doubtful Harry looks, lurking in the background there. "Was it too mean to have given Wills those hair clippers as his Christmas gag gift?" he is wondering. "I really AM happy to give him a buzz cut this holiday season if he wants. I just want him to be happy."
I love Kate's coat EXCEPT I am totally left cold by the length. She's tall, so she's not going to look stumpy, and I get that this length is actually WARMER but it just doesn't steam my tamale.
But she made up for that mumsy length by wearing something mildly kicky underneath. (Speaking of Mums, they left George at home -- which I expected for the exact same reason they stated -- because he would have run amok in church and basically created a loud and destructive reign of holiday terror. Um, I'm paraphrasing.)
I DO love the tweed though.
These two look nice. I LOVE Bea's striped coat and booties combo.
I don't know what she's DOING here -- peering into the church to eyeball the cute vicar? -- but she looks charming.
I wish I could see what's happening at Eugenie's waist -- I feel like her belts are always too thin -- but I love a winter white and her hat is fab. I also enjoy everything that Autumn Phillips is working with. I cannot resist a giant fur collar.
And Sophie looks FAB. I am all about that pillbox hat and the 60s-fabulous collar of her coat (it's Armani). You go, Sophie Wessex.
Hey! We just saw this coat on Princess Anne in our British Royals Who Aren't Kate Or Wills or Harry or George retrospective. I believe she is also wearing the same boots. I decided she read that post and was like, "I FORGOT that coat! I love that thing. Jeeves! Pull out my red coat for Christmas Day while I go talk to a man about blood splatter patterns -- er, I mean, about the new wallpaper for the dining room BYE."
"We look the best, again. AS USUAL."
So, the Middletons went to church with the royal family yesterday, which seems like a good sign for family unity (everyone is reporting that Kate and Wills had the Middz over to their house on Christmas Day instead of doing lunch with The Queen, etc.) James looks handsome -- being the king of a marshmallow empire agrees with him -- and Pips kinda looks like she wants to barf, but that might just be this picture. Or she and Harry had a booze-off with the morning mimosas and now it's all coming home to roost.
The love of the plaid coat is apparently genetic.
James Middleton also played the role of Prince William in the annual Christmas Eve soccerfootball match at Sandringham. (Wills apparently had a twisted ankle. Or was busy at home watching a Real Housewives marathon [one of those is the official story].) One of you noted to us on Twitter that it's highly likely that Harry is telling James how lucky James is that he can have a Christmas Beard any time he likes.
What a show-off! Leaping over fences!
(I'm not saying it's not effective.)
The thrill of victory!
The agony of defeat.
"Hello, horse. Do you have some time to talk? I just leapt over a fence for NOTHING and I feel like this must happen to you all the time."
