This photo is just cute. (I am VERY fond of Saoirse even when I don't like her outfit.)

## James McArdle, Saoirse Ronan, Jack Lowden

And bravo to the men for leaning into the Scotland thing with the subtle plaid blazer and the plaid kilt, respectively. I haven't seen this movie yet, but McArdle plays the Earl of Moray (he's Mary's half-brother and was Regant for her son after Elizabeth I dispatched Mary's head, but then he ALSO got murdered. Fun fact: It was the first recorded assassination by a firearm!), and Lowden is Lord Darnley (spouse, and murderer, and I must admit that my knowledge of this part of the history of Scotland is a bit hazy/relies too much on *Reign* and that's why[ I just spent a LONG time reading his Wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry%5FStuart,%5FLord%5FDarnley?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).) McArdle is also just off a well-recieved part in the revival of *Angels in America.* Anyway, they appear to be having a swell time. Edinburgh IS great! It's both deliciously spooky AND I had some extremely great toast there -- like the best toast I've EVER eaten.

This is NOT the best toast I've ever eaten -- though I love the red earrings, manicure, and lipstick.

This was a few days earlier, in Dublin, and I like everything about it, though possibly I should not.

[Oh Saoirse. This Could Have Been Better. But SHE HERSELF looks charming?![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2019/01/wenn35866107-1547508740.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/oh-saoirse-this-could-have-been-better-01-2019/)
