And bravo to the men for leaning into the Scotland thing with the subtle plaid blazer and the plaid kilt, respectively. I haven't seen this movie yet, but McArdle plays the Earl of Moray (he's Mary's half-brother and was Regant for her son after Elizabeth I dispatched Mary's head, but then he ALSO got murdered. Fun fact: It was the first recorded assassination by a firearm!), and Lowden is Lord Darnley (spouse, and murderer, and I must admit that my knowledge of this part of the history of Scotland is a bit hazy/relies too much on Reign and that's why I just spent a LONG time reading his Wikipedia page.) McArdle is also just off a well-recieved part in the revival of Angels in America. Anyway, they appear to be having a swell time. Edinburgh IS great! It's both deliciously spooky AND I had some extremely great toast there -- like the best toast I've EVER eaten.
