When I first saw this, I was rather into it. There's something super appealing to me about the princessy dress and the punkier haircut, and the fabric is captivating -- kind of an ethereal pink snakeskin effect. I honestly thought that if she didn't go totally body con, she might fill the Evan Rachel Wood menswear void, so I was wrong in basically every way.

And indeed, I might rethink the dress itself. The fabric moved beautifully, but I think the whole effect is spoiled by it being sheer enough to stare at Scarlett's miniskirt. The dress is working against itself. WHY, ALAIA. WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU.

I'm feeling the hairstyle, though. It suits her when it's tousled like this.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but this one is ALSO sheer enough to see her slip. The coat appears to be her own; I wonder if she was like, "Ugh, I might want to cover up however much of this I can," because she did not part with it on the red carpet. It certainly looks dramatic, like she's moments away from turning on her heel and slinking out of there in a blur of ennui and perfume. I'm not sure this dress was worth the change.
