Lea Michele (Wendla)
I feel like we are very close to her being on Dancing With The Stars, or Real Housewives of Broadway, Specifically, where she is there as Jonathan Groff's emotional housewife.
I mean. She is giving major burnished RHO(wherever) energy here, is she not?
Jonathan Groff (Melchoir)
The men of Spring Awakening, for the most part, had a blue awakening on this night.
Skylar Astin (Georg)
Skylar needs another button, I think.
John Gallagher Jr. (Moritz)
This has more of a rumpled Theater Kid energy to it, like half of it was borrowed from a costume shop. The shoes, for sure. He was apparently great in this; my first exposure to him was in The Newsroom, and that entire show was a giant NOPE from me, and I wish I'd seen him in this instead.
Brian Charles Johnson (Otto)
Brian went for grey, and I support his tie clip.
Jonathan B. Wright (Hänschen)
We need to deal with this entire situation. He looks like he came against his will.
Darren Criss
"Allow me to liven things up with some BROWN MUSTARD! You're welcome." (Darren is there, I think, just as support.)
Krysta Rodriguez
Krysta was a swing and then later played Lolo's role in a revival. I don't love this style of dress, but she wears it well.
Jennifer Damiano
Jennifer was one of the swings in the original show, and she looks disarmingly like a brunette Britney from a parallel universe. RIGHT?
Lolo Pritchard (Ilse)
Lolo's Wikipedia page says she once lived with Lisa Marie Presley and tried to start a reggae band with her? It is for the best that this didn't happen. Lolo also recently disclosed that she's an abuse survivor, and she talked a bit in that piece (which I don't THINK is paywalled?) about starring in -- and actively developing -- a show that crossed streams with her real life. It's worth a read, for sure.
Phoebe Strole (Anna)
Phoebe has done a few things since -- an episode of Glee, and some of GLOW. And other shows that don't begin with G. We are entering a section, by the way, where everyone's dresses really remind me of prints that were for sale in the late 90s/early aughts.
Lilli Cooper (Martha)
Lilli was Tony-nominated for the Jessica Lange role in the Tootsie musical, back in 2019?!? How did I forget that happened? I appreciate what she's trying with the shoes, but I cannot co-sign it.
Remy Zaken (Thea)
This whole thing sincerely feels teleported in from my middle school dance in 1991.
