I don't know why I never noticed CinemaCon before, but it feels like it exists because movies got jealous that TV has upfronts, and TCAs twice a year. So the studios have been trotting out all their actors from the upcoming movie slate and making them stand up on a bland dark stage like they're giving a really low-budget TED Talk.
