We are in the summer doldrums, folks. It was bleak out there yesterday looking for pictures to post, and then, like a ray of scorching hot sunlight -- or perhaps its ensuing sunburn -- here comes Carrie Preston shooting *Elsbeth* in her character's signature brights. I appreciate that the costume department is so devoted to this that they even found bobble socks that match the jacket. Elsbeth has come up a lot recently in conversations about why *And Just Like That* is so miserable, and how people stuck with it so long in part because they didn't feel they had enough alternatives with protagonists of a certain age. And while *Elsbeth* is not a show about romance, it IS a show in which the 58-year old lead actress is smart and tenacious and finds joy in her work, her life, her friends and her family. And also puts a lot of guest-actor murderers in their places. It's a hoot; enjoy it and ALLLL the pink she wears.

She also routinely has three tote bags with her and these are all delightful. They should open a shop.
