After her awards run, I tend to think of Stephanie Hsu in terms of either big gowns or kicky party frocks, so it was fun to see her in an ornate pants ensemble. *Joy Ride* is a comedy about a road trip across China; I'm curious to see how well they made British Columbia double for that. Anyway, apparently it's slightly raunchy in the vein of *Girls Trip*, but also emotional at times in the vein of *Bridesmaids*? I'm curious to see it, and not at ALL curious to read any of what I assume will be the treatises on how it proves women can be funny and/or gross too. That was tiring enough with *Bridesmaids*.
