I'm often undecided on the high-low dresses, and I think that's similar to the way I've come to feel about jumpsuits: While my instinct is to eye them with suspicion, rationally I understand that it's a matter of execution and context. On the latter front, we are in great shape. Storm Reid is the ideal person for this pink and white party gown, and she's styled it fabulously. I mean, look at her. She's assertive, potent perfection:

But that illustrates why, in terms of actual dressmaking execution, I'm not as enraptured. I think the high-low, short-long drama works better when the back doesn't just... flop there. That train feels like it's only there because it was something to do, rather than somebody's dream drape. You can fluff out the train, or twist and pose it into submission, but at the end of the day it's a mullet: limp, unnecessary, and hijacking the much better vibe that could be achieved with prudent pruning. Having said all that, I don't dislike it as much as those past few comments would indicate. I just imagine her looking cuter in this particular garment with it either all short, or all long, released from the purgatory of both.
