Obviously, for Sundance, people get passes they ordinarily might not, because it's cold and it's snowy and frankly it would be weirder to show up in a sleeveless cocktail dress than in jeans and Uggs. But that still doesn't mean I'm sold on Mia's pants. The button fly feels like something even The Gap quit on when I was in college. Which, shh, was not recently.
However, Nicole has still managed to go all-out -- I think all her layering still looks just casual enough, yet totally stylish. Also, lord knows I love a good boot. Maybe Nicole can take Mia shopping, since they're so huggy.
I like Nicole's looser hair here. Most of the time I look at her and wonder if she is EVER totally relaxed. Here, I'm getting a slight whiff of it. Unfortunately, our subs didn't have a picture of her in the actual dress, but her coat is cute. (We'll get to Mia in a second.)

Are those white, or baby pink? Either way, I think I purloined those from my sister's closet in, oh, 1987, and stuffed Kleenex in the toes so that my feet would fit in them and I could convince my mom to let me wear them.

As for Mia, it's... fine. Again, at Sundance, glitz isn't required. But I do wish she'd found something a bit more flattering, and a bit less Sixteen-Year Old Girl Gets First Internship At Dad's Office.
