We begin with BOULEVARD DER DAMMERUNG, the German poster, which does indeed have a street and a lady on it. Gloria Swanson is gently depicted, as if she's lying on a chaise with a ribbon at her bosom. I note that because the same graphic is used... differently... later.

For example, here, it's just a border. Although that still of Gloria and William Holden is quite a choice. He's like, "Hey, get a load of my sexy weekender," and she's like, "How DAAAAAARE you pack a WEEKENDERRRRRR, I am nobody's WEEKEENNNNNNNDDDD."

And HERE, the knotted film looks like it's throttling her. What a facial expression.

It's this one, more or less, and you will see another depiction of it later that is... merciless.

Here, "El Crepusculo de los Dioses" depicts Gloria in my 2020 mood: wincing, lying down, sucking back ANOTHER martini, generally cranky.

This is how both of us feel the next day after too much angry reclining with martinis.

AND THEN, Poland comes in HOT with its entry ("BULWAR ZACHODZACEGO SLONCA"). This is like a maniacal book cover version -- a fusion of Gloria Swanson and Medusa and a sunburn. It is INTENSE.
