This is a top and pants, both by J. Mendel. And God help me, she looks devastatingly cool in them. It's not an outfit I particularly want for myself, but even that pattern -- which looks like paint splashes mixed with an incontinent bird -- looks more rock-and-roll on her than crazy. For me, this is a good risk. I think she's doing Kristen Stewart the way Kristen Stewart wishes she were doing Kristen Stewart.

I like the tuxedo stripe. Less sold on the black tie in the back of her shirt. And now the pattern reminds me of a concussion crossed with a view of the galaxy. And maybe still some bird in there. Why am I not madder at it?

Up close it's just funky paint splotches. I can hang with that. No birds involved. Also, I like the clutch and LOVE that she used it to bring out the orange in her outfit. But even for all my endorsements, I would understand people voting it down; I was definitely on the fence at first.
