The strange thing about this dress is, I never found an angle of it on the red carpet where she wasn't trying to hold herself at an angle -- either severely this way, or severely pointed in the other direction.

This is my favorite shot of it, by the way -- it makes the draping and design look very graceful, as well as the fit look very precise (although sometimes with her I worry that the fit is SO precise, she can't actually breathe in it). However, the constant angling makes me wonder if she was self-conscious about something. It can't be the color, surely, because that's spot-on for her. Probably isn't the fit, because that bodice has left no room for error. We can also safely rule out her face and figure, because, well, look at them. So that just leaves me with the slit height, and whether she's obsessed with trying to hold herself carefully enough to prevent any big flashes. But inside she kinda just had to let it go and walk around, so we got a couple straight-on shots.

Hmm. Not a massive flash, but it IS high. We don't usually get quite that much of her in an outfit; not that it's BAD, necessarily, but maybe she was just self-conscious about it because she doesn't usually go full Lea Michele with her skirts. I'm not sure I love the design of it -- how it pulls a little right around the apex of the slit -- but I DO enjoy how far she has to bend over to be Kevin Hart's height, and how it appears he is trying VERY hard not to care about that.

"Holy hell, girl, you are the tallest drink of bourbon in the building. Next to you I'm a shot glass. No, a capful. An eyedropper dose of toddler Tylenol."

"No, really! Why is everything else on this stage taller than I am! Even her slit comes up to my nipples. Why is nobody looking out for me? There is nothing wrong with being petite, but man, nobody puts Ben Stiller on stage with a bunch of Amazon babes. Even Tom Cruise finds a way to look tall sometimes. Damn, people."

I just threw in this picture because I love it. We all know they're dating, at this point, but there's something so hilariously, "Yep, all good, nothing to see here, TOTALLY not going to ravage your hot ass later" about the way they're passing in the night.
In sum: I MOSTLY like the dress. I think I rather like it. I am wondering if she wishes the skirt were cut a wee differently, but it's actually quite safely risque, to use an oxymoron -- nothing untoward is going to happen with that thigh slit. It's high, but it's also going to keep things contained. So overall I think she looks pretty great. Nothing to be ashamed of, Nina. You can square off to the camera all you want.
