To me, this wacktacular get-up seems like yet more ironclad proof for [the theory that Tessa and Janelle Monae are dating](https://www.thecut.com/2018/04/janelle-monae-pansexual-relationship-with-tessa-thompson.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (a theory that seems very likely to me, and also one I've chosen to believe simply because I like it). It seems to me that the *only* way a woman could be talked into wearing these crackpot be-gartered thigh warmers would if her girlfriend Janelle Monae was like, "[Well, *I* wore a similar one, and you told me I looked awesome in it!](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/janelle-monae-produces-a-late-entry-into-worst-of-the-year-11-2017/)" Because your only response would be, "That's true, honey," and then you'd have no choice but to to wear it too.
