Anthony Hopkins

I do not know why Anthony Hopkins is dressed like it's 1975 AND why his hair ALSO believes it's 1975.

Helen Mirren

Though I am a Forever Fan of the cashmere sweater/sequined skirt combo, this color is not lighting up her life.

Ryan Phillippe & Reese Witherspoon

Fun fact! The Ryan Phillippe part in this film was originally going to be played by Jude Law. Doesn't Reese look proud! (I think this was a very good point in their relationship.)

Kenneth Branagh and Lindsay Brunnock

Kenneth Branagh was ALSO meant to be in the movie but had...I dunno. Other stuff to do. Lindsay Brunnock here is his current wife and I somehow did not even know he was married at all??? They've been together almost 20 years? Where have I been? Anyway, she is an art director and I assume she's gotten Kenneth some slimmer pants in the intervening years. This event was apparently their public debut as a couple.

Charles Dance

Charles Dance looks Charles Dance-y!

Alessandro Nivola

Charles Dance was at the London premiere and Alessandro Nivola here is at the Los Angeles premiere and those two events had VERY different dress codes.

Kelly McDonald

I still want this coat, and probably so does Kate Middleton.

Kelly McDonald and Dougie Payne of Travis

Dougie Payne's face reminds me how much I LOVED Travis circa 2001. They were married in 2003 and broke up in 2017. You had a good run!

Kelly McDonald and Maggie Smith

Informative Caption breathlessly informed me in this caption that Maggie Smith and Robert Altman were married, which would be interesting but which is also untrue. I see my own 2001 haircut on Kelly's head here.

Emily Watson and Geraldine Somerville

Emily Watson and Kelly McDonald were unusually coordinated at this particular screening.

Emily Watson and Jack Waters

They have been married since 1995 and are STILL married -- good for them! I fear this look on Emily makes her appear to be able 20 years older than she was at the time (34). I am also concerned about her hose.

Clive Owen

Clive Owen looks like Clive Owen, as it should be.

Elliott Gould

And Elliott Gould looks like Elliott Gould.

Saffron Burrows

2001 was the peak era for Skinny Scarves!

Jeremy Northam

Have I taken leave of my senses, or is Jeremy Northam's tie MARKEDLY too short?

Julie Delpy

Only Julie Delpy could get away with what appears to be a purse that has a giant piece of string for a strap.

Harry Belafonte, Robert Altman, and his wife Kathryn

All I know is, I want to go for after-movie drinks with these three.

Keith Richards and Patti Hansen

All I know is, when I think "English country house murder mystery and examination of class differences in the time between the wars," I DO think, "Keith Richards."

Tico Torres and Maria Marquez

Hey! There's Tico Torres!

Lynn Redgrave

All I know is that the guy behind Lynn Redgrave has an expression on his face that just screams, "that's SO Lynn."

Sir Ian McKellen

That's so Sir Ian McKellen!

Jennifer Jason Leigh

Once again, I am reminded that my Taste in Coats is firmly entrenched in 2001.

Lauren Bacall

Apparently even the great Lauren Bacall was not immune to how much everyone in 2001 wanted to wear a leather blazer!

Anne Archer and Terry Jastrow

You can't tell here, really, but Anne's shirt is tres sheer. They're also still married! Since 1979! (He is a big deal sports producer.)

Gary Busey

Gary Busey cleaned up good upon this night!

Stephen Fry and Alan Bates

Here's Stephen Fry! Alan Bates looks skeptical.

Laura Bailey

This dress is lovely and more nipple-forward than I realized when I downloaded this photo.

Richard E Grant and Camilla Rutherford

They both look very smart and timeless. I LOVE her coat.

Robert and Kathryn Altman

YES, that scarf reads "Gosford Park." Three cheers for THAT.

Since We've Been Talking About Downton Abbey, Let's Revisit The Premieres of Gosford Park

I have to admit, I love this movie.
