I need to preface all of this by saying that I think all these looks would have rendered better if this premiere hadn't been held in the corner of what looks like an AMC. Also: Yes, Chris Klein is draped in velvet. This was while they were engaged, and about six months or so before she started dating Tom Cruise. Just to place you in the correct spot in history.

Like, I actually think this dress is kind of good and has aged fairly well -- it needs different shoes -- but the venue is letting her down.

And Amerie looks a bit prom -- which isn't the wrong vibe for a premiere hosted by Seventeen -- but I actually think you could wear THIS now too, with different styling. (I think she and her husband had a baby fairly recently.)

Marc Blucas brought his granny with him to this premiere, which is very sweet, and he might ALSO be wearing quasi-velvet trousers?

I LITERALLY owned this Going Out Top and I too wore it with jeans. COULD I HAVE WED A LACHEY?! (No.)

It's Bai Ling! She looks great!

Jai looks like a BABY here, even though this was in the middle of the Queer Eye run and ergo this is exactly how he OUGHT to look in my brain. (I also want to share this bit from his Wiki, which reads like Queer Eye was about a boy band, which....I guess you could make that analogy: "A very interesting aspect of the show is the chemistry and great casting of the “Fab Five.” These actors seem like they have been the best of friends since drama camp began back in time. However, none of the men knew each other before the show started. Since Jai Rodriguez is the youngest guy in the clique by ten years, he is considered to be the unique one." I enjoy that whoever wrote this Wiki let themselves be poetic there! Fab Five At Drama Camp DOES seem like a fanfic that someone once wrote and is only now remembering that they did that.

It's very nice of Katie's Dawson's Creek co-star, Monica Keena, come out to support her! (Fun fact: She herself starred in a TV movie also called First Daughter.)

It DOES feel right that Hilary Duff would be at this event, and also kudos to Hilary Duff for being the one person in this slideshow currently working in a successful TV series.

See what I mean about bikini-esque tops?

Nothing has brought home to me how often we wore jeans to literally every event in the aughts like writing these flashback posts.

BRIE! At this point, she was promoting an album that would come out the next year, called "Finally Out of P.E." It did not do well. But take heart, young woman -- things will work out for you.
