Nothing says 2005 like the one-two of American Apparel and Baja Fresh behind one of the quintessential mid-aughts celeb couples, who have coordinated their outfits. They absolutely look like a bridesmaid/groomsman in a business casual wedding but also Jess looks great and does not need to look back at this in anger.

This was the London premiere and whoever was in charge of her spray-tan went overboard, but! This dress is legitimately great on her.

As is this one, at the London after-party, where the flash has at least blown out her spray tan. She looks totally cute here.

We loved a macrame-style detail in 2005; I sincerely think this has aged pretty well, too.

In retrospect, Eva Longoria looks bananas here -- this Going Out top just escaped from a disastrous, high budget western -- but in 2005, this outfit was VERY very on trend for an evening out: Dark, low-rise jeans, Going Out Top, open-toed heels, expensive and flashy bag. She really hits every single mark here for August 2005.

Burt Reynolds played Boss Hogg in this film -- which, again, I did not see and won't ever see! -- which does feel like good casting, or, at the very least, a part Burt Reynolds probably had a good time playing. (Wikipedia informs me that he was, however, terrible in it.)

In which Johnny Knoxville shows up for the *Dukes of Hazzard* premiere dressed like Colonel Sanders, mixing up some of America's Southern stereotypes. I would also like to thank this slideshow for prompting me to look up whether or not Knoxville and Jessica ever hooked up; in case you too were wondering, she claims they had an "emotional affair" in her book and [honestly the whole thing sounds very romantic](https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/pictures/jessica-simpsons-book-15-takeaways-about-nick-lachey/the-divorce/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I might be shipping them now? (I know this was 15 years ago and they're both currently married to other people but whatever.)

I cannot tell what Wilmer's shirt says, although I am confident that it does NOT say "Mr. Fucker," which is what I read at first. I assume he is there to support his then-girlfriend Ashlee Simpson. (I do not know what it says about me that I can remember they dated but I have no idea what I ate for dinner on Saturday.)
