The 2008 Premiere of Twilight

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

First of all, this photo is hilarious. They're both like, "....maybe this was a bad idea." Second, Informative Caption was VERY informative here: "Directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on Stephenie Meyer's 2005 best-selling novel of the same name, 'Twilight' follows the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who finds herself drawn to vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who is 108 but looks 17, when she moves to a new town. Although Edward discourages the romance at first, they soon fall deeply in love. When the arrival of three nomadic vampires, James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi), and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), puts Bella's life in danger, Edward and his family put their lives at stake to save her." That is a pretty good summary, actually, and also I give a hat-tip to the "stake" wordplay.

Kristen Stewart

This is Balenciaga and it is totally fine; the color scheme is actually dead-on for this event. The waves of "ehhhhhhhhhh" about all this insane attention is just rolling off her. (This had to have been a very overwhelming experience.)

Robert Pattinson

This all seems very on brand for R Pattz and WOW this is a crush of people. They're almost covering up Westwood Cookie Palace, Diddy Reese.

Taylor Lautner

I laughed out loud. This says it all. Bless Taylor Lautner. (I have to say, one of the best things about the Twilight phenomenon was when the trio would give interviews and the whole interview would be like, "hello, this is insane." I remember when they got to the final book and poor Taylor had to act like he was in love with a baby and in all his interviews, he was like, "I KNOW IT'S WEIRD.")

Taylor Lautner

"Behold, I am your Noodle King! That's what that sign means, right?"

Alyson Michalka

"I shall drape myself in the COLOR OF BLOOD. Also satin!"

Cam Gigandet

As I was putting this slideshow together, there was something in the back of my head about him that I could not pull toward the front. It might have been that time he gave an interview about how much he HATED being on The OC? (If only celebs would still do these things.)

Elizabeth Reaser

This is an all-time good look for her, and definitely a fairly timeless effort. This is, for what it's worth, a perfect red lip.

Sarah Clarke

I didn't realize that she resembles Elizabeth Reaser until I saw them in very similar colors.

This feels on-brand.

Jimmy Jean-Louis

A sighting of the slightly more rare low-rise man-jean!

Nikki Reed

This might have been a little too old for her? It's cute but also feels a little bit Beautiful Newscaster on the Town.

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth

They both look very reasonable here and I cannot believe someone made a sign that reads YOU CAN BITE ME ROB, I'M LEGAL back there. I mean, I can. But I feel like the woman who did that looks back at this and just closes her eyes.

Rachelle Lefevre

Remember when there was a huge kerfuffle about how she was recast by Bryce Dallas Howard over some kind of scheduling issue and it was just like people sniping back and forth via press releases for weeks?

AnnaLynne McCord

This has a real "I just left my callback for Burlesque" vibe.

Anna Kendrick

This is obviously highly normal, and also everyone alive and almost everyone at this event owned these specific shoes.

Ashley Greene

These are still great shoes and in fact this whole thing hung together really well. This is 100% what I was trying to make my own hair do back in 2008.

Camilla Belle

"Let's see...a vampire movie...oh! I've got a dress with a BODY on it!"

Edi Gathegi

"Let's do blue steel." "No, I want to smile!"

Frances Bean Cobain

This dress is cute!

JDM rather looks like he ran several miles to make it to this on time, but if I have the dates correct, I believe he was in the middle of having Ghost Sex with Izzy on Grey's, and is therefore probably kinda stressed.
